El libro sobre el que trata la presente reseña tiene dos objetivos principales: • Analizar, centrándose en el análisis crítico del discurso (ACD), que lo que expresamos y cómo lo expresamos se traduce en nuestra forma de ver y entender el mundo, así como evaluar el alto grado de relación entre discurso y sociedad o entre texto y contexto.
Este estudio propone un análisis discursivo para comparar los discursos de profesionales de los Servicios Públicos (SSPP) y de Organizaciones no Gubernamentales (ONG) que median en casos de violencia con mujeres de origen subsahariano. Dado que el discurso tiene un impacto esencial en la construcción de modelos mentales, se mostrará, a través de un abordaje mixto compuesto por 28 entrevistas, que entre las y los profesionales de los SSPP existe una mayor presencia de actitudes paternalistas hacia las mujeres migrantes, mientras que en el ámbito de las ONG predominan las actitudes de empoderamiento.
La perspectiva cultural juega un papel muy relevante en el modo en el que las personas expresan sus emociones, por lo que las distintas manifestaciones de estas emociones no se pueden analizar sin tener en cuenta las circunstancias socioculturales. El objetivo del presente estudio consiste en comparar los discursos de profesionales tanto del ámbito de los Servicios Públicos (SSPP) como del ámbito de las Organizaciones No Gubernamentales (ONG) que tienen en común la gestión de casos de violencia con mujeres de origen subsahariano. Se ha llevado a cabo una metodología mixta con un corpus compuesto por 18 entrevistas para analizar, por un lado, cómo perciben estas y estos profesionales la gestión de las emociones de las mujeres subsaharianas que sufren violencia y, por otro lado, qué tipo de formación en interculturalidad poseen. En líneas generales, los resultados muestran que en ambos ámbitos se destacan las dificultades que presentan las mujeres subsaharianas para expresar sus emociones y que en el ámbito de los SSPP la mayoría de profesionales poseen escasa o nula formación en interculturalidad, mientras que en el ámbito de las ONG la mayoría de profesionales posee una amplia formación en este aspecto.
