O câncer colorretal (CCR) está entre as neoplasias malignas que mais acometem pessoas no Brasil e no mundo. Os médicos da Atenção Primária e Secundária são responsáveis pelo rastreamento em pacientes sem fatores de risco ou assintomáticos através da solicitação da pesquisa de sangue oculto nas fezes (PSOF). Objetivos: Avaliar a proporção de consultas de pessoas entre 50 e 75 anos que resultaram em pedidos de exames de sangue oculto nas fezes nos anos de 2019 e 2020. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo transversal. Foi realizado o levantamento do número de homens e mulheres entre 50 e 75 anos, atendidos na Atenção Primária, no município de Ribeirão Preto, nos anos de 2019 e 2020, assim como o número de exames de PSOF solicitados. Foi realizado o teste qui-quadrado de Pearson. O projeto de pesquisa foi submetido à Comissão de Avaliação de Projetos de Pesquisa, processo número 2021/144079. Resultados: Foi identificada uma diferença entre a proporção de exames de PSOF solicitados em 2019 e em 2020, com significância estatística (P < 0,001), sendo que em 2020 a proporção de consultas que resultaram em solicitação do exame foi significativamente menor que em 2019. Discussão: A pandemia do COVID-19 trouxe consequências no âmbito do cuidado da saúde como o lockdown, consultas que foram adiadas, o número de pacientes agendados diminuiu, profissionais de saúde foram afastados e a população que frequenta a atenção primária perdeu o seguimento de rotina, contribuindo também para a queda de requisição de exames. Conclusão: Conclui-se que com a pandemia do novo coronavírus o rastreamento do CCR ficou prejudicado, sendo requisitado em menor número a PSOF na Atenção Primária e assim, diagnosticouse menos a doença em seus estágios menos letais.
