The formation of artificial lake due construction of a hydroelectric plant causes irreversible environmental impacts. Studies associated with these artificial lakes for the Brazilian semiarid region are still insufficient. Thus, the objective of this study is to provide new information on the trends of climatic extremes, dependent on rainfall and air temperature, for the Sobradinho Hydroelectric Power Plant (SHPP) lake region, through the analysis of climate change indices. This study is particularly important for the SHPP region because microclimate changes have significant impacts on the natural, social and economic sectors. For the two analyzed stations (Bebedouro-PE and Mandacaru-BA), it is not possible to affirm that the construction of the SHPP artificial lake altered the local microclimate. Trends of increase in maximum temperature, the number of hot days and diurnal temperature range were noticed. However, the rise of these indices cannot be attributed to the formation of the SHPP lake. The influence of the SST of Tropical Oceans on the temporal behavior of some of the indices used in this study may have contributed to increases in hot days and nights, maximum temperature, diurnal temperature range and consecutive dry days over the region.
Palavras-Chave: Variabilidade, Precipitação, Desvios Climatic Characterization Rainfall Homogeneous Regions of the State of Paraiba ABSTRACT The state of Paraiba, located between latitudes 6S and 8S e 35W to 39W latitude is directly influenced by mesoscale weather systems and large scale that define to their climate situation. The distribution of rainfall over the state is characterized by high spatial and temporal variability and the climate is one of the most important elements for economic and social conditioning in all stages of development. In this context, this study aimed to describing the temporal behavior of the rainfall homogeneous and rainfall regions determined by methods of regionalization so far not developed. Were considered normal climatological data and a series of fifteen years, between 1996 and 2010, in order to identify the representative of data not climatological. As a result it was found that, in terms of annual totals, the number of fifteen showed detours less than 3.1% compared to normal and could represent it satisfactorily without the increment of the biggest mistakes. Also adding new observation posts had little interference in the average result of each region. Keywords: variability, rainfall, Detours
As droughts represent the most complex and harmful type of natural disaster, this has been affecting the state of Rio Grande do Norte for many years. The SPEI index is determined for different time scales, with multiple and different characteristics in different climates. Index indices (SPEI) are calculated based on weather data from INMET stations collected from 1950 to 2018. In this study, the SPEI index was associated with multivariate cluster analysis statistics using the K-means method for a definition. homogeneous regions of drought, where 05 groups were identified by microregions of the state. This article aims to identify the types of drought that occur in the state of Rio Grande do Norte through the SPEI index and cluster analysis from 1950 to 2018. according to their classification. It was observed for all groups, and there was a higher incidence of moderate drought, significantly present in all 05 groups. The largest dry class, according to its duration not found in group G4, was already recorded in groups G1 and G5, and in groups G3 and G5, but with shorter duration. Extractions were included in the years
The objective of this study was to analyze the trends in seven annual extreme indices of precipitation for Idaho, USA. The analyses were conducted for 35 meteorological stations, during the period from 1970 to 2006, a high quality and a fairly long-term dataset. The analyses of precipitation indices presented large spatial variability and few statistically significant trends. Thus it is not possible to conclude that significant changes in precipitation have occurred in this region during the past few decades.
