Dès le début de l’année 2016, une équipe scientifique réunissant plusieurs chercheurs de l’université d’Etat de Saint- Pétersbourg et de l’université de Lausanne conduit une recherche sociolinguistique focalisée sur l’histoire et l’état actuel des dialectes des colons suisses qui avaient émigré en Crimée au milieu du XVIIIe siècle. La présente étude a comme objectif d’établir une typologie des locuteurs des dialectes suisses de Crimée et de la côte Nord de la mer Noire, qui actuellement sont en danger de disparition, et de proposer ensuite une définition quantitative de la vitalité de ces communautés linguistiques d’après la méthode mise au point par l’UNESCO. Enfin, il s’agira d’établir l’index de vitalité d’une langue (‘index de danger’) qui correspond aux degrés dans la classification internationale d’après l’échelle de l’UNESCO et permettra d’évaluer les perspectives de conservation des communautés italophones, germanophones et francophones et, indépendamment de cela, de déterminer s’il est possible de les conserver, de les faire renaître voire de les documenter.
