The paper deals with the comparison of the importance of passengers’ requirements for the quality of the services provided and the quality assessment of air and bus transport. Individual quality criteria and their importance from the point of view of passengers vary depending on the mode of transport. It is also possible to observe the differing importance of quality criteria in relation to groups of passengers. The paper is processed comparison of the importance of individual quality criteria in air and bus services to the research in this area. In the paper is processed IPA matrix for air and bus transport. These are simple matrices that serve to highlight and understand important customer requirements.
The article deals with the possibilities of standardizing the quality level of suburban bus transport services. The procedures respect the legislative requirements which are valid in the Slovak Republic. The proposed theoretical methods are applied to specific measurement results of expectation and perception of the quality by the passengers in a significant transport hub of northern Slovakia, the region of Žilina. The findings will be applied in development of the standardization quality level in suburban bus transport to its anchoring into the service contract between self-governing region and operator of bus transport. This approach has not yet been applied in the Slovak Republic.
The increase of individual car traffic causes that existing transport networks fail to meet the needs of road traffic in the means of capacity. One of the possible options for solving this problem is the construction of new communications. This solution is difficult to implement due to the high investment costs and possibility for further development. Therefore, one of the options for avoiding this problem is to make public urban transport more attractive, for example, through its support and preference. One of the main criteria in the quality evaluation of public urban transport is the transfer speed from origin to destination. This speed can be most noticeably affected by the use of public urban transport preference. This paper will discuss the analysis of passengers’ satisfaction with services provided by carriers of urban transport and the possibilities of public urban transport preference through the preference of public urban transport vehicles in reserved traffic lanes and on signal controlled intersections.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
