This work aims to analyze the contributions of the Fedathi Sequence (SF) methodology during a formation with teachers who teach mathematics in the initial years of elementary school. Undergraduate and postgraduate students, teachers of the municipal and state education networks participated in the training. In order to accompany the trainers on the TelEduc platform and to minister the workshops, 5 trainers (masters and doctoral students) were selected from the mathematics teaching research axis. The data presented were collected from the reports of the trainees and trainers in the discussion forums, portfolios on the platform and also from the observations during the mathematics workshops. Consequently, we aim for a teaching formation that involves not only understanding of the content, because discussions about curriculum and quality teaching are essential for the achievement of teaching practice. Indeed, the teachers and trainers consider that the training was important for their professional growth and that the experience of the SF gave them to think the practice from a learning by doing. We conclude that a formation in the assumptions of SF leads to a path that leads thought to action, and therefore we understand that in this walk, the methodology lived proved to be efficient.
AbstractTeacher formation, whether initial or continuing, should be developed with a focus on teaching and learning processes in a theoretical and practical way, or as Freire (1987) points out by praxis. This paper aims to present the methodology Fedathi Sequence (SF) and Cultural Theory of Objectivation (OT) as proposals for teacher Formation that teaches mathematics in basic education. Therefore, it was necessary to: (a) analyze the literature on these issues; And (b) reflections on reflexive practices of teacher formation, with a view to considering to what extent the subalterns speak aiming at manifestations of creative insubordination on the curriculum and evaluation in movement. The reflections point to the necessity of a deep and ample study on the harmful consequences of a formation that does not prime for the autonomy and creativity in the teaching action, limiting its praxis in the pedagogical space.
AbstractInitial teacher education involves not only the understanding of the concepts to be worked on, but also pedagogical practices that best enable the didactic transposition of this knowledge by the teacher. However, faced with a teaching that is sometimes mediated by rules without any meaning for the students, we aimed to analyze the mathematical strategies presented by students of the Pedagogy course of the Faculty of Education of the Federal University of Ceará (FACED/UFC) through the resolution of mathematical problems. Of qualitative nature, of interpretative type, we collected data through observations in classes during the subject of Mathematics Teaching of the mentioned course, as well as the elaboration of a set of problem situations, in which, when answered by the students, we categorized the strategies used based on the classification made by Magina et al. (2014) presented by basic education students in solving mathematical problems and analyzed them in the light of Johannot's ideas (1947) under a new systematization. The results indicated that when faced with difficulty in solving a mathematical problem, the student, based on the categorization created by Johannot, seeks to solve the problem by returning to more elementary reasoning compared to that used in other mathematical activities. Thus, the understanding of the types of manifestations of these reasonings will allow the student of pedagogy to improve his field of action both in planning and in future didactic mediations with his students, as well as to enable new research in what involves the training of teachers for the development of students' algebraic thinking.
