RESUMEN: Los regímenes híbridos locales cuentan con una gama de estrategias para desincentivar la crítica periodística. ¿Por qué en algunos casos se coopta y en otros se reprime violentamente a la prensa crítica? Con evidencia de las entidades federativas mexicanas, argumento que estas estrategias son sustitutivas y que la selección depende de los recursos del Ejecutivo local (políticos, financieros y violentos) y los costos asociados a cada estrategia (reputacionales, de monitoreo, de reclutamiento y de visibilidad).
<p>¿Cómo cubre la prensa mexicana los feminicidios? Los encuadres mediáticos tienen efectos en la manera en que los individuos conciben e interpretan los problemas públicos. Se ha documentado que la prensa retrata los feminicidios como incidentes aislados y tiende a la revictimización, a la justificación del agresor y a la utilización primordial de fuentes policiacas. Para México, la mayoría de estos patrones se ha confirmado, pero la utilización generalizada de estos encuadres es discutible. En este trabajo identificamos los encuadres en la cobertura de dos casos de feminicidio distinguiendo tres ejes de variación: periódicos, casos y tiempo.<strong> </strong>Analizamos 172 notas periodísticas publicadas en cuatro diarios de circulación nacional entre mayo y noviembre de 2017. Los resultados contribuyen a cuestionar la existencia de encuadres noticiosos generalizados, al sugerir una agenda de investigación enfocada en las diferencias entre hábitos, prácticas, rutinas y valores.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
<p>¿En qué medida las leyes contra la difamación pueden afectar los contenidos de la prensa? ¿Qué factores favorecen que la prensa continúe con su labor crítica a pesar de la existencia de esta regulación restrictiva?Este artículo tiene como objetivo explicar las reacciones de la prensa frente al uso de las leyes de desacato como instrumentos de intimidación. Los resultados muestran que la crítica periodística sólo se desincentiva cuando están ausentes determinados actores capaces de fungir como aliados de la prensa, que provean recursos puntuales para resistir los embates de la manipulación. A partir del análisis de una base de datos original sobre el contenido de los principales diarios estatales mexicanos, se muestra que la existencia de un Poder Judicial independiente y una oposición parlamentaria vigorosa son condiciones necesarias para que la prensa crítica sobreviva.</p>
<div class="page" title="Page 1"><div class="section"><div class="layoutArea"><div class="column"><p><span>El objetivo de este artículo es presentar un diagnóstico de la calidad de la información sobre robo de combustible en México en dos vertientes: la información relativa a la evolución y distribución del fenómeno, y la información relativa a las acciones estatales para combatirlo. Para ello, acudimos a tres distintas fuentes de información: </span><span>1</span><span>) portales de transparencia proactiva de las diversas instituciones involu- cradas en este problema público, </span><span>2</span><span>) respuestas otorgadas a solicitudes de información sobre el tema realizadas entre 2006-2018, y finalmente, </span><span>3</span><span>) respuestas a solicitudes propias. Encontramos que, a pesar de la relevancia pública del problema y de que el nuevo gobierno lo incorporó en su agenda desde el primer momento, la información continúa dispersa y fragmentada. Los esfuerzos de transparencia sobre este tema son aún insuficientes para generar un debate </span>informado o una evaluación ciudadana de las acciones llevadas a cabo para combatir el robo de combustible.</p></div></div></div></div>
