Objetivos: Investigar fatores que interferem no desenvolvimento motor em crianças de até 18 meses com fissura lábio palatina. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo exploratório, de crianças com idade entre 0 e 18 meses que apresentam fissura lábio palatina. O desenvolvimento motor foi classificado de acordo com a Escala Motora Infantil de Alberta (AIMS). E as fissuras lábio palatinas conforme a Classificação de Spina. Resultados e Discussão: Participaram do estudo 103 crianças. O tipo de fissura mais incidente foi a fissura Palatina Pós-forame Incompleta com 21,35% (n=22), mais incidente no sexo feminino com 13,59 % (n=14); sendo que a fissura Labial Unilateral Transforame Completa teve 12,62 % (n=13), com maior incidência no sexo masculino. Observou-se que o tipo de fissura não apresentou correlação significativa com nenhuma das variáveis. Quanto ao desenvolvimento motor, pode-se observar que 53,40 % apresentaram risco ou atraso no desenvolvimento motor. Conclusão: Conclui-se que o desenvolvimento motor possui fatores que interferem na sua evolução, sendo estes a idade/escolaridade materna, idade gestacional e Apgar, porém, não apresentaram correlação com o tipo de fissura.
A anquilose da articulação temporomandibular é uma doença grave, caracterizada pela fusão entre o côndilo e a fossa mandibular, resultando em constrição da mandíbula, devido adesão por tecido ósseo ou fibrótico dos componentes anatômicos, causando limitação na amplitude dos movimentos da articulação, implicando em significativas limitações funcionais. O objetivo do presente artigo é descrever as técnicas de tratamento e atendimento multidisciplinar nas funções e qualidade de vida de um paciente portador de anquilose da articulação temporomandibular que foi submetido à sua reconstrução com enxerto costocondral. Trata-se de um caso de anquilose da articulação temporomandibular esquerda, que evoluiu com reabsorção de enxerto ósseo, retrognatia, assimetria facial e alterações funcionais significativas. Embora tenha havido uma regressão na abertura bucal e assimetria facial devido a reabsorção do enxerto, sendo indicativo de novo procedimento de artroplastia e procedimentos complementares para resolução do caso, o tratamento multiprofissional empregado foi efetivo na melhora da dor e da função mastigatória.
