La emergencia sanitaria del COVID-19 visibilizó las profundas desigualdades sociales del sistema de educación en los sectores rurales e indígenas del país. Este estudio analiza los impactos de la medidas educativas diseñadas ante el COVID-19 en territorio achuar. Se implementó una metodología biográfico-narrativa que incorpora observación participante y entrevistas no estructuradas durante los meses de marzo a junio del 2020 en la comunidad achuar Saapap en la provincia de Morona Santiago. La modalidad a distancia, implementada para reemplazar a la educación en línea de las zonas urbanas, ahonda las desventajas de los estudiantes achuar ya que demanda un aprendizaje independiente con escasos recursos educativos y en lengua foránea acentuando la colonialidad del saber y del ser.
