Amblyopic eyes showed abnormal visual cortical responses only when the macular area was stimulated (increase in VEP P100 implicit times with the 15-minute stimulus). This functional impairment, in the presence of normal macular function (PERG responses similar to control eyes) may be attributable to a delay in postretinal neural conduction (increase in RCT).
1999) Effect of injection sites of botulinum toxin for blepharospasm treatment: statistical analysis, Neuro-Ophthalmology, 22:1, 17-23To link to this article: http://dx.Abstract A statistical analysis was performed on the possible influence of injection sites on botulinum toxin A (BAT) treatment of essential blepharospasm. For this purpose, two groups (a total of 60 patients) were evaluated. The first group was treated with three suprabrow injections and the second one with five lid injections. The amount of BAT was the same in the two groups. Clinical results of the two different techniques appeared to be superimposable. Potentially, lid injection may induce more side effects. This was not, however, noted in our study. This is the first comparative study on the role of injection sites for BAT.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
