In order to obtain a Protected Designation of Origin, it is necessary to characterize the food product. The objective of this work was to investigate whether there was a single Andalusian artisanal goat' milk cheese or several types, depending on the goat breed and/or the cheese-making process (milk heat treatment, rennet type or ripening time). One hundred and eight artisanal goat cheeses, representative of the whole area of Andalusia and widely distributed, have been physicochemically analyzed (pH, TS, fat/TS, and NaCl). Linear regression models were suitable for studying which factors had an independent influence on the physicochemical parameters of these cheeses, the breed and the ripening time being the most influential factors. A Kmeans cluster analysis with the principal component analysis (PCA) scores was made in order to find profiles which defined these cheeses. The first group was composed of Malagueña fresh cheeses made with pasteurized milk and microbial rennet and which had a higher pH (6.2) and lower values of TS (53.5), fat (26.1), fat/TS (49.2), and NaCl (1.5) than the second cheese group. The second profile was made up of MurcianoGranadina and multi-breed semihard and hard cheeses made with pasteurized or raw milk and animal or vegetable rennet and having lower pH values (5.4) than group 1 and higher TS (62.5), fat (34.4), fat/ TS (54.7), and NaCl (2.0) values than group 1. These results could support the Quesos de Málaga Producer's Association that is interested in applying for the Málaga fresh cheese quality certification (Protected Designation of Origin).
Digital and interactive health interventions (DIHIs), such as virtual-reality-based therapy (VRBT) and smartphone-app-based therapy (SABT), may be useful for reducing the impact of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer (BC) in women. The aim of this meta-analysis was to explore the effect of DIHIs on improving pain, anxiety, depression, quality of life (QoL), and upper extremity (UE) disability-related lymphedema in women with BC. Methods: We searched PubMed Medline, Web of Science, Scopus, CINAHL, Physiotherapy Evidence Database, and SciELO for the period ending February 2022. We included studies that assessed the effect of DIHIs on UE motor disability, pain, anxiety, depression, and QoL in women with BC. The effect size was calculated using Cohen’s standardized mean difference (SMD) and its 95% confidence interval (95% CI). Results: Twenty studies providing data from 1613 women with BC were included. With respect to UE disability, DIHIs increased flexion (SMD, 1.92; 95%CI: −1.16, 2.68), abduction (SMD, 1.66; 95%CI: 0.91, 2.42), external rotation shoulder range of motion (SMD, 1.1; 95%CI: 0.36, 1.85), UE function (SMD, −0.72; 95%CI: −1.31, −0.13), and handgrip strength (SMD, 0.4; 95%CI: 0.21, 0.59). DIHIs reduced pain (SMD, −0.8; 95%CI: −1.31, −0.26), anxiety (SMD, −1.02; 95%CI: −1.71, −0.34), and depression (SMD, −1.57; 95%CI: −3.1, −0.08). Finally, DIHIs increased overall health (SMD, 0.6; 95%CI: 0.31, 0.89). Conclusions: Right at the end of therapy, DIHIs are effective at improving UE function, pain, anxiety, depression, and QoL in women with BC. VRBT has a greater effect than SABT for the assessed outcomes.
Summary Linear regression models were applied to predict the effect of the breed and technological factors on the sensory characteristic of cheeses. Seventy goat cheeses from forty local producers were analysed. They represented the totality of the Andalusian cheese‐making sector (different goat breeds, type of coagulant, ripening time and heat treatment of milk). Sensory attributes of cheeses were influenced by all the factors studied. Ripening affects all sensory attributes while the breed and the heat treatment are the most influential factors on the flavour and the type of coagulant on the texture attributes of these cheeses. Linear regression models were found to be suitable for studying which factors had an independent influence on the sensory attributes of these cheeses. This work could help researchers and producers to a better sensory characterisation of their products.
The project has been developed during the academic year 2015/2016 at the Education Sciences School of the University of Cordoba. Our fundamental aim has been to implement the Flipped Learning (FL) approach in four subjects of Child and Primary Education Degrees regarding the teaching of the Spanish language and literature. The innovation proposal has been carried out in three phases: preparative, application and diffusion; the latter has allowed us to spread the actions developed in the previous stages. Thus we have focused on the students' competential development, which has let us approach the teaching-learning process, in a more active, meaningful and motivating way in relation to the traditional model and through the use of diverse technological tools. Keywords: Flipped Learning, Flipped Classroom, Spanish Language and Literature, Child Education Degree, Primary Education Degree, Higher Education.
As host to more immigrants than any other country, the United States has been shaped by immigration over the centuries, and illegal immigration is a constant problem, so is a topic to deal with in political campaigns. This research will show some rhetorical resources used in the political speeches given by Democratic leaders Barack Obama and Joe Biden when dealing with the issue of immigration in their campaigns. We will focus specifically on the different mechanisms related to logos or means of persuasion through the demonstration of logical proof, real or apparent, which can also be defined as the strategy of arguments that point directly to reason. Using Aristotle's Rhetoric, we will analyze how politicians try to convince, and we will compare the resources of both to see the similarities and differences. We selected four political speeches made by each Democratic candidate during the electoral campaigns to do this.
