Las noticias falsas han sido ampliamente estudiadas y se ha encontrado que pueden generar confusión, distorsión de la información disponible y dotar intencionalmente de cierta emocionalidad, llegando a comprometer la toma de decisiones. En consecuencia, resulta importante investigar cómo se puede contrarrestar el efecto negativo de la desinformación. Por este motivo, el objetivo de este trabajo es presentar una revisión de investigaciones que analizan cómo las noticias falsas pueden afectar la toma decisiones en diferentes contextos y su efecto en la construcción de la coherencia discursiva. Por otro lado, existe un interjuego entre la presentación de noticias falsas, las emociones del comprendedor y la toma de decisiones. En esta línea, los textos de refutación, aquellos que presentan argumentos que desmienten la información falsa, constituyen una herramienta útil para revisar percepciones erróneas y proporcionar información verificable. No obstante, la efectividad de estos textos dependerá de diversos factores, tales como la claridad, la estructura, el formato, la modalidad y el contexto en el que se presenten. Con el presente trabajo, proponemos analizar el interjuego entre la desinformación, la coherencia discursiva y la toma de decisiones, lo que es de suma relevancia a nivel social.
¿Pueden los sistemas sociales influir sobre los procesos cognitivos? Esta pregunta abre la posibilidad de pensar a la cognición como la expresión individual de la interfase entre la fisiología y lo social. La primera, guiada por procesos genéticos bajo coerciones del desarrollo, da cuenta de la plasticidad neuronal del Sistema Nervioso Central, lo que permite la diversidad en el otro nivel: lo social/cultural. ¿Puede este nivel modular el primero? Y más específicamente: ¿Cuáles serían los mecanismos modulatorios de los sistemas sociales capitalistas y patriarcales sobre los procesos cognitivos? Aquí proponemos que estos mecanismos implican la automatización de los procesos cognitivos, sobre todo de los sectores sociales vulnerables, en desmedro de los procesos más reflexivos. Las teorías de procesos duales proponen que los procesos cognitivos pueden ser automáticos (sistema 1) o reflexivos (sistema 2). Algunas de estas teorías proponen que los segundos pueden operar tanto con la información original como con la resultante del proceso automático, afirmando o modificando el resultado inicial. La persistencia de estereotipos, el acceso implícito a un gran volumen de información, la ausencia de criterios sociales para clasificarla como relevante (“posverdad”), la reproducción de las instituciones como instancias de autoridad y poder, una vida cotidiana y laboral cada vez más demandante, precarizada y patológica (estrés crónico, burn-out, depresión, etc) son potenciales condiciones que –hipotetizamos- podrían favorecer una tendencia hacia la automatización de los procesos cognitivos, principalmente sobre les trabajadores en general, y las mujeres en particular.
