Mathematical connection is the ability to make connections to understanding mathematical concepts that are associated with contexts outside of mathematics. Various studies revealed that the students' mathematical connection is still low; therefore, this study aims to describe the difficulties of junior high school students in mathematical connection ability. This research is a descriptive qualitative study. The study sample was 52 students from a junior high school in East Flores Regency. The methods used in this study were tests, observations, and interviews. The study results showed that the mathematical connection ability based on the three indicators of connection ability tends to be below. Students did not understand concepts that had been studying; easy to forget concepts, principles and procedures; not used to use concepts, principles and procedures; assume mathematics has nothing to do with other sciences; not accustomed to applying mathematical concepts in everyday life; lack of understanding about the story

Acute respiratory infection (ARI) is an infectious desease cause by bacteria or viruses that attack the respiratory organs. This research aims to determine the best panel data regression model in the case of the factors that influence the number of patients with ARI in East Nusa Tenggara Province from 2014 to 2018. Response variable used is the number of ARI patients. Independent variables were observed among others, low birth weight, malnutrition, immunization, exclusive breastfeeding, and vitamin A in 22 districts or city in East Nusa Tenggara. The results showed that the Random Effect Models eliminate outlier data on response variable is a model that can describe the influence of independent variables on the number of patients with ARI in East Nusa Tenggara Province from 2014 to 2018. Variables that influence of ARI are malnutrition and exclusive breastfeeding with a coefficient of determination (R) of 9,2%.
Malaria is transmitted via a bite of mosquitoes and it is dangerous if it is not properly treated. Mathematical modeling can be formulated to understand the disease transmission dynamics. In this paper, a mathematical model with an awareness program has been formulated and the reproduction number has been estimated against the data from Weeluri Health Center, Mamboro District, Central Sumba. The calculation showed that the reproduction number is R0 = 1.2562. Results showed that if the efficacy of the awareness program is lower than 20%, the reproduction number is still above unity. If the efficacy of the awareness program is higher than 20%, the reproduction number is lower than unity. This implies that the efficacy of awareness programs is the key to the success of Malaria eradication.
The aims of this study are to determine the main factors causing the occurrence of human trafficking in NTT and to build a model of the causes of human trafficking. This research is a survey research with the population is a victim of human trafficking in the East Nusa Tenggara Province. The sample was 49 victims of human trafficking from Timor Tengah Selatan (TTS) and Belu districts who were selected by purposive sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire using an ordinal measurement scale (Likert scale) which contained 37 questions as well as research variables (attributes). Data were analyzed using factor analysis. The results of the study showed that of the 37 variables, 7 factors are formed. There are economic and cultural factors, employment and income opportunities, early-age marriage, education, poverty, limited access to information, and quick rich desires. Economic and cultural factors are the main causes of human trafficking in NTT Province. The equation model produced for each factor are F 1 = X 3 + X 4 + X 5 + X 9 + 0.696X 13 + 0.714X 14 + 0.505X 25 ; F 2 = 0.783X 18 + 0.618X 19 + 0.555X 20 + 0.633X 22 + 0.603X 23 + 0.625X 24 + 0.598X 26 ; F 3 = 0.607X 12 + 0.700X 27 + 0.848X 28 + 0.798X 29 + 0.595X 30 + 0.629X 32 ; F 4 = 0.524X 11 + 0.743X 15 + 0.866X 16 + 0.567X17; F5 = 0.658X 6 + 0.833X 7 + 0.750X10; F6= 0.850X 1 + 0.826X 2 + 0.706X21 danF7= 0.793X 8 .

A study on the level of difficulty of the mathematics subject has been carried out in
the Junior High Schools Aroun the City of Kupang. The samples were taken purposively among year 8 students and their mathematics teachers in the second semester from 8 public schools and 5 private schools. The number of samples was 659 students and 33 teachers. The analysis was conducted on the topics of Comparison, Aritmatic, Lines and Angles and Triangles and Quadrilateral Shapes. The study shows that the most challenging mathematic topics for the year 8 students in the City of Kupang is Lines and Angles followed by the calculation of area of irregular plane shapes particularly on pentagon forms
