Agriculture, to be successful, needs soil to have a potential nutrient composition that is relevant to plants. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the conditions for farming through soil analysis. Thus, this manuscript makes it possible to analyze the fruitfulness of two samples of the reddish-yellow acrisol—one with vegetation and the other without it—from Serra da Meruoca, a humid area in the semi-arid region of Ceará. Concerning the material and method, the stages were literature review, researches on cartographic bases, fieldwork, and data collection and their analysis in the laboratory. The results show that the area of acrisol with vegetation favors the practice of agriculture, a fact observed because of carbon (C), which is indicative of soil with intense cultivation, as well as calcium (Ca), which appeared in a significant level, typical of arable land. In the second sample, the acrisol without vegetation, the parameters that impose restrictions on agriculture are the pH, which contains exchangeable aluminum, indicative of high acidity that leads to a leaching process. Also, the aluminum (Al) at a low level reflected the need for dolomitic quicklime, for the amendment of a deficient soil. Therefore, studies on its fruitfulness are essential for farmers to reap the rewards according to the results obtained and analyzed.
The following article has an objective to report the lived experience of the enforceability of cartography in geography. In each opportunity, this research has aimed its gaze to the content of urbanization attached to a cartographic knowledge, considering that it leads students to a comprehension of the geographical area and the reality of the world. At first, this work has been based on targeted literature reviews by developing practical activities using images from artificial satellites (Google Earth), according to the content from the textbook studied by the high school 2-year class at Jarbas Passarinho School. While applying such activities, it has been noticed some difficulties which both students and teachers have when dealing with cartography; however the proposed exercises made the content comprehension easy. Hence, such practical activities have reached its goals in doing mediation between geography and cartography, since it has contributed in a positive way in students' learning.
Belonging to the group of exception areas in the middle of the semi-arid northeast, important geomorphological features for the state of Ceará and for the Northeast region of Brazil, Ibiapaba presents forms of lush and particular landscapes. The Sedimentary Plateau of Ibiapaba represents a geomorphological compartmentalization of great expressiveness in northeastern Brazil, with an extension of approximately 380 km in the western part of Ceará. This work aims to present the physical aspects of the area through the physical-geographical characterization of these elements and their reflexes and their interaction with the morphosculpture of Ibiapaba in its northern part based on Ross's methodology (1992) for classification and systemic perspective as a subsidy. The materials and methods are constituted by the stage of bibliographic review, cartographic preparation, fieldwork and analysis of data and information. The results present the physical-geographic picture (geological, pedological, geomorphological, morphostructural and climatic aspects of the area and its interactions). Associated with the proposed objective, the physical-geographical framework of the area and morphostructure characteristics, it is understood that this level of approach may be essential to understand the geomorphological particularities of the region, as well as present in itself as a contribution to scientific studies in the area, serving as the basis for future studies.
This present essay addresses the presentation of a discussion about the relation between nature and society, going from the nature concept comprehension to modifications which has been taking place in geographical space.Meruoca Sierrais held as a cutout for this research, an exception area in Ceará semi-arid which contains a natural physical framework different from the others relief units around the state. Some procedures were adopted as methodology, all of them based on literary review, starting with Ludwin von Bertalanffy's systemic approach (1975) which states that elements are a part of a whole and they must be studied jointly instead of individually. Fieldwork was also carried out for a better recognition of the area and through it was possible to notice modifications beside photographical records.Linked to these conditions there are hydric resources, fauna, flora and specially soils which has been quite exploited by the society and for this reason some samples of them were collected to be physically analyzed. From this fact, it was possible to understand modifications in nature caused by the society what reflect on an environmental imbalance in Meruoca.
This work presents a pedological and environmental characterization in humid enclave areas in the Brazilian Northeast, particularly, in the residual mountain of Meruoca Sierra, located in Ceará Northwest region, where a spatial clipping was used to research on screen. Both adopted materials and methods followed two stages: desk and field research. At first it was read articles about such topic having GST (General System Theory) as basis. In this sense, field researches were carried out to observe natural and artificial compounds collecting data to make a map of the area in question. Results show that the soil studied is important to farmers living there, mainly to the practice of a subsistence crop. Meanwhile, it is realized that pedological studies are important to understand landscape distribution and agricultural production, being also a resource to carry out territorial planning.
