Objective: to investigate the prevalence of Minor Psychiatric Disorders and associated factors in nursing workers. Method: observational and analytical sectional study. Data were collected from 285 nursing workers. A questionnaire containing sociodemographic, occupational, psychosocial aspects of work and mental health was used. Bivariate and multivariate analysis were performed by binary logistic regression. Results: the global prevalence of suspected Minor Psychiatric Disorders among nursing workers was 32.6%. Higher prevalence rates were found among female, young, married/common-law married individuals, in the nursing assistant/technician categories, with income up to four minimum wages, developing high-demand work with low social support, high effort-reward imbalance, and over-commitment. Conclusion: the variables that remained associated with the mental health outcome in the final model were: female gender, married/common-law married, high-demand work, high effort-reward imbalance, and over-commitment.
Objective:to analyze the combined use of models for the evaluation of work-related psychosocial aspects and their association with the prevalence of Minor Psychics Disorders among nursing workers. Method:cross-sectional study with a sample of 285 nursing workers. Data collection was performed through the application of a structured sociodemographic and occupational questionnaire and the Demand-Control-Support, Effort-Reward Imbalance and Self-Reporting Questionnaire. Descriptive analysis and a multiple logistic regression were performed. Results:the prevalence of suspicion of minor psychics disorders was 32.6%. The dimensions of both models were associated with mental health. The full Effort-Reward Imbalance and Demand-Control and Social Support models predict Minor Psychics Disorders to a greater extent than the combined use of partial models. Conclusion:it was found that the Effort-Reward Imbalance model captured better the magnitude of the Minor Psychics Disorders in this sample of workers compared to the Demand-Control and Social Support model. However, the concomitant use of the theoretical models revealed unique contributions in the evaluation of Minor Psychics Disorders. Considering the complexity of mental illnesses, it is important that different factors be evaluated.
RESUMOEste estudo objetivou traduzir e adaptar culturalmente a Management of Aggression and Violence Attitude Scale -MAVAS -para uso no Brasil. DESCRITORES Enfermagem psiquiátricaEscalas Agressão Estudos de validação ABSTRACTThis study translated and culturally adapted the Management of Aggression and Violence Attitude Scale -MAVAS -for use in Brazil (BR). The methodology followed the international guidelines for the cultural adaptation of psychometric scales: conceptual equivalence, semantic equivalence, items equivalence, and operational equivalence. A group of judges performed a content validity analysis that resulted in a 23-item scale divided into four factors with satisfactory content validity coefficients (CVCs) for the following parameters: clarity of language (CL; 0.88), practical relevance (PR; 0.91), and theoretical relevance (TR; 0.92). The data were collected in Londrina, state of Paraná, BR in 2011. The MAVAS was translated and culturally adapted for use in BR, and the MAVAS-BR exhibited satisfactory content validity. Future studies concerning the MAVAS-BR are suggested, including the evaluation of psychometric qualities, such as its construct validity and reliability. Background: There are several parameters that must be included in the evaluation psychosocial rehabilitation. Objectives: To describe and correlate the degree of stress of family members who live with schizophrenic and bipolar disorder patients, their satisfaction with mental health services and the level of daily living skills of the patient. Method: Cross-sectional and correlational study, from 2012 to 2013, with a sample of 100 caregivers. The Family Satisfaction with Mental Health Services Rating Scale (SATIS-BR), the Independent Living Skills Survey (ILSS-BR), and the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12) were used. Data were analyzed using SPSS v.21, with the Mann-Whitney test, Jonckheere-Terpstra test, and Pearson's, Spearman's and Partial correlations, and a significance level α = 0.05. Results: The score for the SATIS-BR scale was 4.28, 1.59 for the ILSS, and 7.39 for the GHQ-12. The value of the Pearson correlation coefficient between the SATIS-BR and ILSS was r = -0.27, and r = -0.23 between the GHQ-12 and SATIS-BR. The Spearman's correlation coefficient between Education and the GHQ-12 was r = -0.24 and there was a negative linear trend between stress and the level of education (JT = -2.54, p < 0:01). Discussion: The caregivers presented a very high level of psychological distress, therefore, it is critical that mental health services perform more effective psychosocial rehabilitation actions.
