The agricultural farming activities generate organic waste whose indiscriminate deposition can be prejudicial to the environment. However, careful application of these wastes as organic fertilizers it is a possibility to improve soil fertility. This study aimed to confirm the hypotheses that organic wastes produced in various production chains in the semi-arid region of Ceará have contents of nutrients that give them potential as organic fertilizers and, since they are used as organic fertilizers, these residues improve the chemical soil attributes. Nutrient contents were determined at the laboratory and then the wastes were placed in decomposition bags and applied in a Fluvic Neosol. Soil samples were collected in the 0-0.10 m layer 90 days after wastes were applied. The residues presented nutrient contents that allow their use as organic fertilizers, except the shrimp farming residue that presented sodium content above that allowed by legislation, resulting also in higher element contents in the soil. In addition, the shrimp farming showed the lowest organic carbon content in relation to others chemical elements. The residues of the poultry industry and the compound made with residues of small ruminants presented the highest of nitrogen and phosphorus levels. The carnauba residue was associated with phosphorus immobilization because it presented C/P ratio higher than 300.
Soil pollution by heavy metals is mainly caused by poor management of tailings generated by mining during exploration and processing of metals. Given the concern about the soil environment, this study aimed to evaluate the tolerance and effectiveness of isolates of rhizobium strains native to soils of Mn2+-mining areas in association with Mimosa caesalpiniaefolia (Benth.) cultivated under increasing concentrations of Mn2+. Isolates of rhizobium strains, obtained from Mn-mining area, were authenticated and morphologically characterized. Effect of Mn2+ on the growth and nodulation of M. caesalpiniaefolia was subsequently evaluated. We obtained 14 isolates which were similar, differing only in the form of colonies. Mn2+ did not inhibit the symbiotic process between isolates and plant species. The isolates from mining area showed higher efficiency than native strains. All isolates are Mn2+-tolerant, and those from mining area can increase the tolerance of M. caesalpiniaefolia to excess Mn2+ in the soil.
Em vista das variações climáticas ocasionadas pelas mudanças do clima mundial, a agricultura busca novas alternativas de plantas que possam se desenvolver e produzir em condições adversas (seca ou chuvas excessivas). O objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar a germinação e o desenvolvimento inicial de sementes do feijão enxofre sob diferentes potenciais osmóticos. As sementes foram postas para germinar em papel germitest embebido em solução de cloreto de sódio nos potenciais osmóticos: 0; -0,1; -0,2; -0,3; -0,4; -0,5; -1; -1,5; -2,0 MPa. Para a análise dos dados foram utilizados os índices de velocidade de germinação (IVG), coeficiente de velocidade de germinação CVG (%), porcentagem de germinação, comprimento da radícula (CRF) e hipocótilo final (CHF), tempo médio de germinação (TMG). Observou-se redução nos índices de IVG, G (%), CVG (%), CRF, CHF e aumento no TMG, nos potenciais de -0,1; -0,2; -0,3; -0,4; MPa. O IVG apresentou redução em todos os potenciais. Conclui-se que a variedade feijão enxofre não reduziu sua germinação em função das condições de potencial hídrico, fato que não foi observado nos demais parâmetros (IVG, TMG e CVG%), que apresentaram interferências negativas significativas, mostrando que apesar de ser exposto a situações de baixa disponibilidade hídrica, o feijão enxofre não reduz seu estande, mostrando potencial de uso em áreas de seca ou solos salinos. AbstractIn view of the climatic variations caused by changes in the global climate, agriculture seeks new alternatives of plants that can develop and produce in adverse conditions (drought or excessive rain). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the germination and early development of sulfur beans seeds under different osmotic potentials. The seeds were put to germinate in germitest paper soaked in sodium chloride solution osmotic potential: 0; -0.1; -0.2; -0.3; -0.4; -0.5; -1; -1.5; -2.0 MPa. For data analysis the germination speed index (IVG), germination speed CVG coefficient (%), germination percentage, length of the radicle (CRF) and hypocotilum (CHF), average time of germination (TMG) were used. Reduction was observed in the indices of IVG, G (%), CVG (%), CRF, CHF and increase in TMG, the potential of-0.1 0.2 0.3;0.4; MPa. IVG exhibited reduction in all the potentials. It is concluded that the sulfur beans variety did not reduce its germination conditions of water potential, a fact that was not observed in the other parameters (IVG, TMG and CVG%) which ave significant adverse interference, showing that despite being exposed to situations of low water availability the sulfur beans does not reduce its stand, showing potential for use in dry areas or saline soils. O presente estudo objetivou avaliar a produtividade do feijão manteiguinha submetido a distintas condições de adubação, comparado ao plantio em praia. Para condução do experimento foi realizado teste da resposta do feijão manteiguinha sobre a adubação química com 500 Kg . ha-1 de NPK, orgânica com 2 t . ha-1 de cama de frango e testemunha sem adubação. Posteriormente foi avaliado o sistema de plantio do feijão manteiguinha em praia realizado pelos produtores locais, caracterizando a forma como é cultivado e a produtividade da cultura. Além da avaliação da produção foi realizada análise de custo/benefício das adubações em relação ao plantio em praia, considerando para isso, os insumos utilizados para plantio e condução da cultura e o rendimento obtido na comercialização. Os parâmetros avaliados no experimento foram Produção Total, Número de Terços Foliares e Altura da Planta. Entre os sistemas avaliados os que alcançaram maior produtividade foram a cultivo em praia, adubação química e adubação orgânica, respectivamente. Quanto à altura de planta e o número de terços foliares, todas as condições de adubação e plantio em praia diferiram da testemunha, tendo a adubação química e plantio em praia alcançado a maior altura de planta. Entre as adubações a orgânica demonstrou maior massa seca vegetal. Quanto a melhor relação custo/benefício foi verificado que o cultivo em praia resultou em maior rentabilidade ao produtor devido aos custos reduzidos e a alta produtividade de grãos alcançada.

O arroz (Oryza sativa) é um cereal que apresenta elevada importância socioeconômica sendo uma das principais fontes de energia da população brasileira. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a resposta de cultivares de arroz à adubação em cobertura com termofosfato, em sistema de plantio direto. O experimento foi conduzido no município de Ji-Paraná - RO. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos casualizados em parcelas subdivididas (2 x 5), com quatro repetições, totalizando 40 unidades experimentais. As parcelas foram compostas por duas cultivares de arroz (ANA 5015 e BRS A501 CL) e as subparcelas as doses de P em cobertura (70, 140, 210 kg ha-1) e uma testemunha sem adubação fosfatada. O fertilizante utilizado foi o termofosfato Nutrisolo SP. O P influenciou no número de panículas (NP), número de espiguetas por panícula (NE), nota de acamamento (NA), número de grãos cheios (NGC) e na produtividade (PRO). A cultivar ANA 5015 foi mais responsiva a adubação fosfatada em cobertura por termofosfato. As variáveis NGC, NPA e EFI apresentaram correlação positiva na PRO em ambas as cultivares. Apesar de não ser uma prática utilizada corriqueiramente nos plantios agrícolas, a aplicação de P em cobertura demonstrou ser efetiva e bastante eficiente para a nutrição nas cultivares aqui testadas. Effect of thermophosphate in coverage on production and productivity components of rice cultivars ABSTRACT: Rice (Oryza sativa) is a cereal that has high socioeconomic importance and is one of the main sources of energy for the Brazilian population. The objective of this work was to evaluate the response of rice cultivars to fertilization in coverage with thermophosphate, in a no-tillage system. The experiment was conducted in the city of Ji-Paraná - RO. The experimental design was randomized blocks in split plots (2 x 5), with four replications, totaling 40 experimental units. The plots were composed of two rice cultivars (ANA 5015 and BRS A501 CL) and the subplots the doses of P on covered (70, 140, 210 kg ha-1) and a control without phosphate fertilization. The fertilizer used was the thermophosphate Nutrisolo SP. The P influenced the panicle number (NP), spikelet number (NE), lodging grade (LD), number of full grains (NFG) and yield (PRO). Cultivar ANA 5015 was more responsive to phosphate fertilization in thermophosphate coverage. The variables NFG, NPA and PE showed a positive correlation in PRO in both cultivars. Despite not being a common practice used in agricultural, the application of P in coverage proved to be effective and very efficient for nutrition in the cultivars tested here.
