Resumo Este artigo apresenta os resultados de uma revisão integrativa de literatura sobre educação em saúde e cidadania, que buscou conhecer e analisar as diferentes contribuições científicas disponíveis. A educação em saúde reflete uma estratégia que almeja um cidadão coautor do processo de construção do cuidado à sua saúde. Utilizou-se para a coleta de dados a base Lilacs (Literatura Latino-Americana do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde) no período de 2000 a 2011, totalizando 79 produções. Após a aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, a amostra final incluiu dez publicações. A pesquisa trouxe a prevalên-cia de estudos da natureza artigo, apresentando mais de três autores, com predominância de docentes e produção do tipo revisão teórica. As categorias que emergiram do estudo foram: educação em saúde -historicidade e bases conceituais; e educação popular como geradora de cidadania. As evidências mostraram o processo histórico das políticas de saúde e o surgimento dos movimentos sociais voltados para as necessidades da população. Destacaram também que a educação permanente em saúde proporciona a construção de novos saberes, mediante a junção de conhecimentos científicos e de saberes populares. Manifestaram-se na literatura contribuições relevantes sobre a educação em saúde, por ser uma prática emancipadora do sujeito, atuando como espaço gerador de cidadania. Palavras-chave educação em saúde; cidadania; educação.Abstract This article presents the outcome of an integrative literature review on health education and citizenship that sought to understand and analyze the different scientific contributions available. Health education reflects a strategy that seeks a citizen who is a co-author of the process of building his or her own health care. The LILACS (Latin American and Caribbean Center Health Sciences Information) database was used to collect the data in the period ranging from 2000 to 2011, with a total of 79 publications. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the final sample consisted of ten articles. The study revealed the prevalence of article studies with more than three authors -predominantly professors -, and of theoretical reviews. The categories that emerged from the study were health education -historical background and conceptual foundations, and popular education as an engine for citizenship. The evidence showed the historical process of the health policies and the emergence of social movements targeting the needs of the population. They also highlighted that continuing health education allows for the construction of new knowledge by blending scientific and popular knowledge. The literature shows relevant contributions on health education, as it is an emancipatory practice of the subject acting as a space that generates citizenship.

This study aimed to determine the pattern of family functioning on everyday care relationships of adults in the fourth age. This is a study of diagnostic-evaluative nature of adults with 80 or more years old who depend on care, and of their relatives as caregivers. The participants were selected among the registered patients of a Family Health Unit in a district in the suburbs of Belém-PA, Brazil. They were evaluated according to the dynamics of their family, and quality of life related health lifestyle. Most of the elderly rated their families with good functionality. However, data on the elderly and caregivers' quality of life and caregivers' life style only reached the median level, showing some difficulty in the family functioning system. It was concluded that the multiple results obtained through the assessments indicate some practical implications of care to the family unity and confirm the need for multidimensional assessment about the family intervention.

RESUMO: Objetivo: desvelar o cotidiano da prática educativa de enfermeiras na Atenção Primária. Método: pesquisa exploratória, com abordagem qualitativa, realizada com quatro enfermeiras de uma Unidade Estratégia Saúde da Família, localizada no município de Belém-Pará-Brasil. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista semiestruturada e analisados com auxílio da técnica da Teoria Fundamentada nos Dados. Resultados: foram organizados em duas categorias: A dimensão das ações educativas das enfermeiras na Atenção Primária e A práxis das ações educativas desenvolvidas pelas enfermeiras na Atenção Primária, que explicitaram o predomínio do modelo tradicional de educação em saúde e a carência de conhecimento científico aplicado nas ações educativas. Considerações Finais: acredita-se que a educação em saúde ainda seja um desafio, mas que deve ser pensada como um processo a ser galgado pelos profissionais dos serviços de saúde, quando no desenvolvimento de práticas educativas voltadas para a realidade da população. Method: exploratory research with qualitative approach, performed with four nurses from a family health Strategy Unit, located in Belém-Pará-Brazil. The data were collected through semi-structured interview and analyzed using the technique of Grounded Theory. Results: Were organized into two categories: The size of educational actions of nurses in primary care and the praxis of educational actions developed by nurses in the primary care, which demonstrated the predominance of the traditional model for information on health education and the lack of scientific knowledge applied in educational actions. Conclusion: it is believed that this health education is still a challenge, but that should be thought of as a process to be achieved by the professionals from health services, when developing educational practices focused on the reality of the population.

Objetivo: identificar se os enfermeiros do Brasil têm conhecimento das políticas e tecnologias de gestão nos serviços de saúde e enfermagem. Métodos: realizamos revisão integrativa da literatura, utilizando as bases de dados: LILACS, MEDLINE, SciELO, BDENF e PAHO e os descritores: gestão em saúde, tecnologia em saúde, tecnologia assistencial e enfermagem, incluindo as publicações nos idiomas português, espanhol e inglês. Resultados: A análise resultou em 11 referências completas, no período de 2003 a 2007. Constatamos que os enfermeiros possuem articulação nos serviços de enfermagem e competência técnica no exercício profissional, porém, apresentam-se frágeis politicamente, o que limita sua autonomia profissional e os torna ainda subordinados a outros profissionais. Conclusão: diante dos avanços e constantes mudanças no setor saúde, particularmente no nível organizacional e técnico-científico, torna-se imprescindível que o(a) enfermeiro(a) desenvolva suas habilidades políticas, gerenciais e de liderança com participação responsável e de forma interdisciplinar.
