Este artigo descreve o projeto numa comunidade vulnerável em Brasília. Objetivou-se desenvolver e implantar um makerspace focado no protagonismo social, inicialmente proporcionado pelo acesso a impressoras 3D. A metodologia utilizada teve duas etapas: a etnografia e o design participativo escandinavo. Por meio dos dados obtidos prototipou-se a realidade local e entendeu-se a importância do makerspace para o empoderamento. As impressoras 3D foram desenvolvidas utilizando sucata eletrônica. A integração dos habitantes no espaço e as discussões fora do espaço, que são promovidas pelo acesso e utilização da tecnologia, ressaltam a importância dos makerspaces na consolidação da identidade e o empoderamento comunitário.

This article analyzes, trought a pre test, the relevance of this phase to a decision about the other project phases.
This paper describes two projects, Vila Rosario and Vila Mimosa, two pieces of ethnographic research that aimed at improving public health in poor corners of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The research sought to improve public health in these two marginalized communities in Rio de Janeiro. The main objective of the paper is to explain how Surrealist techniques can be applied to enrich ethnographic fieldwork. The broader question of the paper is the tension between these imaginative techniques work with fieldwork, a tension that goes back to the disciplinary differences between design and the social sciences.
