In this article, we present a platform that allows for the integration of different applications for the follow-up of patients with chronic diseases. We developed two elements: a mobile and a web application. The mobile application allows the capture and processing of vital signs for patients with high blood pressure (hypertension). This application allows for the patient to store the data obtained, provides historical information and trends of the stored measures, and provides alerts and recommendations according to ranges of measures that were obtained. The web application allows the doctor and patients to obtain updated information of the disease behavior through the measures obtained. We used different biometric devices including an efimomanometer, glucometer, scale, and a thermometer with a wi-fi connection. Through this web application, we also generated information about average measures at a given time, by age, by region, and by a specific date. The developed system was evaluated in a medical center with different types of patients.
Palabras claves-Presión arterial, aplicaciones web, ingeniería de software, servicios web, hipertensión.ABSTRACT-Arterial hypertension is a chronic disease, characterized by the continuous increase of blood pressure figures in the arteries; as a consequence of physical inactivity, unhealthy eating having negative effects for humans. In this article shows a platform that allows the management of patient's data with chronic noncommunicable diseases, such as arterial hypertension, storing patient data, historical record and trends of stored measures, alerts and recommendations of agreement through the ranges of measurements obtained is presented. The development is raised through a prototyping methodology to generate models in a short time. Currently in our country there is no platform that allows Panamanians self-management of basic health data. This project follows the objective set by the National Agenda of Research and Innovation Priorities for Health 2016-2025, where it is intended to present solutions to solve the problems related to the study of lifestyles and behavior associated with the distribution of the burden of noncommunicable diseases in Panama and a solution that allows the development and systematization of managerial information to know the health situation. Through this platform, we can also generate statistics on average measures in a given time, by age, by region, by specific date that...
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
