El presente artículo trabaja la teoría de Marquard y su comprensión del ser humano como Homo Compensator, que permite superar los problemas que enfrenta la modernidad subsumida en el dilema de la gnosis que, ante la falta de un sentido absoluto, no logra comprender el problema del mal. Así, se propone demostrar la pertinencia de la reflexión de la antropología filosófica actual frente a la pregunta por el sentido de la vida humana. El presente texto consta de tres momentos: en el primero, se presenta la lectura de Marquard acerca del modo en que la modernidad trató de responder al problema del mal desde la teodicea y la filosofía de la historia; posteriormente, ante el fracaso de tales soluciones se muestra, la propuesta marquartiana de la compensación como la búsqueda de sentido sucedáneo dentro del marco de una filosofía de la finitud que aboga por el sentido retórico-narrativo; finalmente, concluye con el problema de lo incompensable y el dilema que genera para la comprensión del sentido.
El presente libro es el resultado de una investigación conjunta entre el equipo docente de los programas de filosofía de la UTP (Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira) y de la UNAD (Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia). Así, este volumen es un lugar de encuentro de reflexiones filosóficas desde diferentes perspectivas, que ofrecen una visión amplia de las consecuencias de una “nueva normalidad” en contextos de pandemia. Una confluencia de enfoques diversos permite que este libro sea un referente académico e investigativo en el desarrollo de filosofía aplicada al entorno social, político, económico y académico. A partir del reconocimiento de lo que se pone en juego, con las medidas adoptadas a nivel nacional e internacional ante la crisis por COVID-19, las contribuciones de este libro ofrecen una lectura del fenómeno de la pandemia desde una perspectiva crítica. Por ello, aquí se dan cita revisiones de las estrategias biopolíticas adoptadas por los gobiernos, así como revisiones del lugar de la ética y de la solidaridad. Algunos capítulos abordan el tema de un contractualismo internacional y otros apuestan por un reconocimiento de nuevas “normalidades” y “anormalidades”. Todas estas revisiones críticas permiten un desarrollo del pensamiento, que rompen las ilusiones que bloquean los caminos de un pensar emancipador.
El siguiente texto presenta la disputa en torno al politeísmo que tuvo lugar entre Taubes y Marquard y a las interpretaciones que ambos ofrecen de la filosofía de Schelling. Mientras que Marquard sostiene que la filosofía de la mitología no puede superar la esfera de la heteronomía, ni siguiera con la filosofía de la revelación, Taubes asume que la filosofía de la revelación expresa el reino de la autonomía y en consecuencia es el motivo definitivo de la filosofía de la historia. Tras presentar las partes encontradas, se hace un balance de la discusión.
"El presente trabajo interpreta de la teoría diltheyana de la concepción del mundo como una ontología de la finitud de la existencia humana, para ello, se parte de la diferencia entre límite y finitud y, desde esta distinción, se establece una relación entre historia y vida. La historia como límite y la vida como finitud. Ello implica que no es posible una concepción del mundo más allá de los límites mismos de la historia, es decir, no hay nada fuera de la historia. Sin embargo, la vida, que constituye la base de toda concepción del mundo, se refiere constantemente a elementos atemporales y ahistóricos: la salvación, belleza, verdad, ideas y esencias. La vida vive vivencias contradictorias consigo misma. Aunque es una estructura de vivencias, éstas están limitadas históricamente y buscan trascender ese límite. La vida se constituye como enigma que no encuentra respuesta en sí mismo y por ende la busca fuera de la historia. El enigma sintetiza la finitud humana en una única vivencia: la muerte. Esta síntesis implica una comprensión de la temporalidad como historicidad distinta a una cronología lineal. Hay un fundamento ontológico más que positivo, así, la categoría base es la de ""estructura"" y no la de desarrollo. La muerte indica la constante finitud y el límite de la vida, que no se da como una vivencia más entre otras vivencias, sino que se constituye como elemento inherente de la vida humana. Es sobre la vivencia del enigma y no sobre las ciencias del espíritu que la teoría de la concepción del mundo adquiere un nuevo sentido y revitaliza la filosofía de Dilthey para la actualidad."
¿Qué significa el éxito en filosofía? Con esta pregunta como punto de partida, A propósito de las causas perdidas: escepticismo y conciencia histórica recorre los avatares de la teoría y la tipología de las concepciones del mundo formuladas por Wilhelm Dilthey en 1911. Inspirado en la perspectiva escéptica de Odo Marquard, el libro muestra que todo intento de lograr una filosofía exitosa en virtud de una justificación absoluta redunda siempre en una causa perdida. Ejemplos de ello fueron la teodicea, la filosofía de la historia y la misma tipología de las concepciones del mundo. ¿Qué hacer con la filosofía cuando de esta se siguen tantos fracasos? La transformación de la pregunta filosófica que va tras la exigencia de una justificación absoluta en una pregunta surgida de la necesidad de orientar las propias experiencias parece brindar una buena respuesta; quizás no la mejor, pero una adecuada para la vida humana. Los trabajos en torno al escepticismo en la obra de Dilthey son muy pocos, incluso en lengua alemana, y Marquard no ha sido estudiado como comentarista de la obra de Dilthey, lo que hace de A propósito de las causas perdidas: escepticismo y conciencia histórica no solo un planteamiento innovador, sino que pretende suplir, someramente, un vacío que existe en la literatura en español en torno a los dos filósofos. Mediante la traducción directa de citas y fragmentos del alemán, que no están disponibles en lengua española o inglesa, el libro presenta una lectura filosófica orientada a abrir una nueva ventana de trabajo en la recepción de la filosofía de Dilthey, esta vez desde una óptica escéptica.
