This text aims to present an experience in sociology classes in the high school of the authors: the parliamentary simulation. The activity was carried out in two high schools of the state network of Ceará, both located in peripheral neighborhoods of the state capital, Fortaleza. The experiences in schools occurred in the 2013, 2014 and 2015 school years. The Freirean dialogic method was used as a reference for classroom activities. With this experiment it was possible to verify significant differences between the activities carried out in the two schools analyzed, mainly due to the school culture of each school. In addition, the activity underwent modifications between and even during the applications, in order to allow favorable adaptations to the development of the action and also to the learning of the students. Keywords: Teaching practice, Sociology in high school, Parliamentary simulation, Public school.
