In an increasingly competitive market, companies have shown a constant interest in improving their processes. In this sense, the 5S program is a tool that addresses these issues of pro cess quality, promoting organization of spaces, elimination of waste and optimization of time. In this perspective, this study proposes the implementation of the 5S program in a private elementary school in the city of Manaus-AM, in order to optimize the spaces to improve its use, to develop a sense of organization in school employees and to promote the efficiency of quality of services provided. This research was based on the qualitative approach and used the case study as a methodology. The tools used were the 5s Program, the Ishikawa tool, the Brainstorming and a questionnaire. The result showed that the 5s program can promote quality in the processes, optimization of the physical space of the school secretariat that was the scenario of application of the program and the personal development of the collaborators.
One of the most commented subjects currently in companies that are looking for excellence is certainly the Industry 4.0. A technological advance that if not implemented in a successful way can cause the loss of competitiveness and non-survival of the company, on the contrary can make it a reference in the current market. It is natural that with the advancement of any segment we have doubts regarding its approach. The purpose of this article is to describe the concepts, applications and maturity levels of Industry 4.0, as well as to clarify its degree of maturity in relation to industrial automation that is also part of this concept, but that did not emerge from it. It also presents the main enabling technologies that drive it, its relevance and interaction in the industry and examples of companies that in Brazil are already applying the concepts of the current revolution and the technologies that characterize it.
The classic Economic Dispatch (ED) problem considers only the cost of power generation by thermal generators, often disregarding the safety parameters of the electrical network, environmental costs and especially the importance of predictive maintenance of the generators, when considering environmental costs in the optimization of ED this becomes a multi-objective problem Environmental Economic Dispatch (EED). Considering the global pressure to reduce emissions of pollutants in the atmosphere and environmental sustainability, incorporating the generation of Renewable Energies (RE) or Green Energy in the electricity grid is indispensable. Solar energy is becoming an important part of the power generation portfolio in many regions due to the fast decline in its costs and political incentives that favor the generation of clean energy sources. This article uses the Ant Lion Optimizer (ALO) method to solve the problem and EED restricted to the grid in a hybrid system (thermoelectric and photovoltaic). The results of the optimization problem were simulated in MATLAB. This research included 01 thermoelectric with 06 generators and 13 solar plants.
The construction sector provides occupational risks to construction workers at the building site. Despite the obligation of the use Individual Protection Equipment (IPE), the noise is one of the occupational risks, which persist as one of the most injury to workers. The causes may be inherent in the control, but also the inappropriate choice of the methods of implantation of hearing protectors as an individual control measure. This paper aims to analyze the efficiency of hearing protectors, taking into account the octave band spectrum at the sound pressure levels of the main equipment used in the civil construction sector in the city of Manaus in Brazil, following the limits defined in the Brazilian standard.
The study of fuel control of the heavy-duty gas turbine arises naturally with the idea of providing a higher yield to the generation process, which is usually located in the first stage of generation, since the turbine is one of the main components in a thermoelectric plant along with the generator that is connected directly to the turbine. PID control is typically one of the most widely used control models in the industry because it provides the system with satisfactory performance according to the designer's choice using the ITAE performance criterion and a pre-filter can provide robust control for the system in question, which raises the reliability of the control even in the presence of variations of plant parameters. It is proposed to perform the sizing of this fuel control and with the use of MATLAB software to perform the simulat ion of the performance of the proposed control system, besides evaluating the control performance for hypothetical situations of parameter variations that can certainly occur in a system real subject to intemperes and interference from disturbances.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
