Canaloplasty demonstrated significant and sustained IOP reductions accompanied by an excellent short- and long-term safety profile in adult patients with open-angle glaucoma.
With all 5 OVDs, endothelial cell loss was found, with the lowest in the Healon5 group, and IOP was increased 4 to 6 hours postoperatively. After 24 hours, no significant increases in IOP were noted.
The morphological scoring system evaluates the entire area behind the IOL optic and thus includes a larger area of the posterior capsule than does visual acuity testing. When using a standardized photographic setup, systematic errors by the photographic technique were not relevant.
