By differentiating titanium carbide (TiC) tool and cemented carbide uncoated tool during the CNC machining of LDX 2101 steel, this experimental approach aims to diminish surface roughness (SR). The control group comprised uncoated inserts while the experimental group featured TiC inserts. These drilling parameters parameters were speed of cutting, rate of feed, and cut depth. The number of groups was 2, and there were 27 samples used for each group in the trials. The standard SR value for TiC inserts is 0.06778 µm, while that for uncoated inserts is 0.145880 µm. Between two inserts, there is an 0.01 significant difference (p<0.05). In agreement with the constraints of this work, LDX2101 duplex stainless steel has a higher SR when machined with a TiC insert and a lower SR when machined with an uncoated insert.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
