Comparing the performance of uncoated insert and TiC insert in CNC novel machining of LDX 2101 duplex stainless steel for minimizing surface roughness

Abstract: By differentiating titanium carbide (TiC) tool and cemented carbide uncoated tool during the CNC machining of LDX 2101 steel, this experimental approach aims to diminish surface roughness (SR). The control group comprised uncoated inserts while the experimental group featured TiC inserts. These drilling parameters parameters were speed of cutting, rate of feed, and cut depth.
