Sustainability plays an important role in society by improving long-term quality of life, including future generations, seeking harmony between economic growth, social development and the protection of the environment. For decades, companies focused their efforts on maximizing returns for their stakeholders, setting aside the preservation of the environment by making indiscriminate use of local resources, which had a direct impact on the social and economic well-being of it, however today the organizations analyze and evaluate the demands, tastes and preferences of new generations as a competitive strategy, because they seek healthier and safer spars, showing increasing interest in social indicators, economics and mid-environment, denying sustainable strategies for their stakeholders. The combination of statistical techniques of descriptive and contingency analysis the sustainability of the tourist micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) of the state of Baja California through the application of the travel and tourism competitive index. The main findings show that the sustainable good practices implemented by micro-entrepreneurs so far has allowed them to develop competitive value strategies focused on their Stakeholders, seeing an increase in their competitiveness.
Purpose -The goal of this paper is to characterize the economic and financial management (EFM) practices in Mexican micro-enterprises and determine their impact on business performance under the hypothesis that EFM practices focused on achieving the optimal level of liquidity and profitability positively affect the performance of micro-enterprises.Design/methodology/approach -The study applies factor analysis, including both exploratory and confirmatory techniques, as well as linear regression models.Findings -The econometric analysis shows that both economic and financial management are statistically significant in explaining microenterprise performance, although only the effect of the latter is positive, whereas that of the former is negative.Originality/value -The paper's findings could guide training and microcredit programs focused on micro-enterprise owners in developing countries and help to improve decision-making processes.
The exhibit features Mexican microenterprises today give evidence of the problems that they face in terms of managing their activities, where the role of economic-financial elements is perceived. Although the issue has been addressed in previous studies the contribution of this study is to evaluate in an integrated manner the level of economic and financial management (GEF) in micro and impact on business results. To do an index is constructed from indicators synthetic methodology using the principal components factor analysis, accompanied by linear regression exercises. The results confirm the presence of elements of GEF in micro studied. Moreover, it was found that the extent to which GEF elements are incorporated in its activities, the impact on their business results will be positive. These observations constitute the prelude to the creation of public policies seeking to establish improvement strategies for such companies, besides that fosters future research for analysis but by sectors of economic activity.
Objetivo: evaluar el comportamiento y las proyecciones sobre el ahorro para el retiro en México con un enfoque generacional y de género. Metodología: se aplicaron tablas de contingencia con información de la Encuesta Nacional de Inclusión Financiera de 2018. Resultados: un elevado porcentaje de los jóvenes de entre 18 y 25 años no tiene una cuenta para el retiro, debido sobre todo a que aún no forma parte del mercado de trabajo o al desconocimiento del trámite para obtener dicha cuenta. En relación con el género, las mujeres son las más afectadas, lo cual se explica en gran parte porque tienen mayores carencias en educación financiera y por las desigualdades en cuanto al acceso al mercado laboral. Valor: el estudio aporta resultados que son importantes para el desarrollo de políticas públicas. Limitaciones: la muestra fue tomada en un solo periodo (2018). Conclusiones: la mayoría de los mexicanos no tiene una cuenta de ahorro para el retiro y solo un pequeño porcentaje realiza aportaciones voluntarias. La perspectiva acerca del financiamiento para el futuro indica que hay una tendencia al sustento proveniente de los hijos, la pareja, otros familiares o programas de gobierno.
El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la curva de Phillips para la economía cubana durante el periodo de 1990 a 2009 realizando un recorrido por la crisis económica del periodo derivada de la caída del campo socialista y la desaparición del Consejo de Ayuda mutua Económica (CAME). Los resultados indican que a pesar de que la teoría de la Curva de Phillips fue utilizada en muchos países para mantener el desempleo en cifras bajas mientras se toleraba una inflación alta, la experiencia de Cuba ha demostrado que un país puede tener simultáneamente inflación y desempleo elevados.
