INTRODUCCIÓN. La presente investigación surge del interés y necesidad de contar con un instrumento de medida de la autoeficacia de los profesores para promover procesos autorregulatorios en sus estudiantes, variable asociada directamente al éxito académico. OBJETIVO. Diseñar, validar y estudiar la estructura factorial de la Escala de Autoeficacia Docente para la Promoción de Autorregulación del aprendizaje en Secundaria. MÉTODO. Se utilizó un plan de diseño de tipo instrumental. Para la validación del instrumento se empleó la metodología de jueces expertos y luego se efectuó una entrevista cognitiva de la escala en tres profesores de secundaria por bola de nieve. Para el estudio de la estructura de la escala, se realizó análisis factorial exploratorio en una muestra no probabilística por accesibilidad de 62 profesores de secundaria de diferentes asignaturas. RESULTADOS. La validación de contenido según el acuerdo absoluto entre jueces expertos mostró que la escala es válida. En el caso del estudio factorial de la escala, los resultados mostraron que esta es unidimensional y una consistencia interna de alfa .93. DISCUSIÓN Y CONCLUSIONES. Se concluye que la escala es válida según criterio de los expertos y confiable según análisis de la consistencia interna de su estructura unidimensional.
