In this article, the problem of estimating unknown parameters of the inverted kumaraswamy (IKum) distribution is considered based on general progressive Type-II censored Data. The maximum likelihood (MLE) estimators of the parameters are obtained while the Bayesian estimates are obtained using the squared error loss(SEL) as symmetric loss function. Also we used asymmetric loss functions as the linear-exponential loss (LINEX), generalized entropy (GE) and Al-Bayatti loss function (AL-Bayatti). Lindely's approximation method is used to evaluate the Bayes estimates. We also derived an approximate confidence interval for the parameters of the inverted Kumaraswamy distribution. Two-sample Bayesian prediction intervals are constructed with an illustrative example. Finally, simulation study concerning different sample sizes and different censoring schemes were reported.
In this article, a progressive-stress accelerated life test (ALT) that is based on progressive type-II censoring is studied. The cumulative exposure model is used when the lifetime of test units follows Pareto-IV distribution. Different estimates as the maximum likelihood estimates (MLEs) and Bayes estimates (BEs) for the model parameters are discussed. Bayesian estimates are derived while using the Tierney and Kadane (TK) approximation method and the importance sampling method. The asymptotic and bootstrap confidence intervals (CIs) of the parameters are constructed. A real data set is analyzed in order to clarify the methods proposed through this paper. Two types of the progressive-stress tests, the simple ramp-stress test and multiple ramp-stress test, are compared through the simulation study. Finally, some interesting conclusions are drawn.
In reliability studies, the best fitting of lifetime models leads to accurate estimates and predictions, especially when these models have nonmonotone hazard functions. For this purpose, the new Exponential-X Fréchet (NEXF) distribution that belongs to the new exponential-X (NEX) family of distributions is proposed to be a superior fitting model for some reliability models with nonmonotone hazard functions and beat the competitive distribution such as the exponential distribution and Frechet distribution with two and three parameters. So, we concentrated our effort to introduce a new novel model. Throughout this research, we have studied the properties of its statistical measures of the NEXF distribution. The process of parameter estimation has been studied under a complete sample and Type-I censoring scheme. The numerical simulation is detailed to asses the proposed techniques of estimation. Finally, a Type-I censoring real-life application on leukaemia patient’s survival with a new treatment has been studied to illustrate the estimation methods, which are well fitted by the NEXF distribution among all its competitors. We used for the fitting test the novel modified Kolmogorov–Smirnov (KS) algorithm for fitting Type-I censored data.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
