RESUMO O envelhecimento da população vem aumentando o número de doenças crônicas que resultam em limitações cognitivas e motoras, como o acidente vascular encefálico (AVE). O objetivo da pesquisa foi investigar os efeitos do game Motion Rehab na atenção e na independência em idosos após AVE. Trata-se de um estudo com intervenção controle antes e depois, em que participaram 10 idosos de ambos os sexos, com idade média de 67,7±7,1 anos, com predominância do AVE isquêmico e frequentadores de um Centro de Reabilitação Física. As sessões foram realizadas individualmente uma vez por semana, com duração de 15 minutos, em um período de 15 semanas. Os instrumentos utilizados foram o "Miniexame do estado mental", a "Medida de independência funcional" (MIF), a "Escala de depressão geriátrica" e o "Teste de trilhas coloridas". Na análise dos dados foi utilizado o teste t de Student para amostras pareadas. Os resultados determinaram diferenças significativas na atenção e na independência após as intervenções com o game. No teste de trilhas coloridas o tempo de execução reduziu de 330,5±140,8 segundos na avaliação para 259,4±112,5 segundos na reavaliação (p=0,039), além da interferência do profissional psicólogo também reduzir de 0,8±0,5 para 0,4±0,3 (p=0,036). A MIF teve inicialmente um escore de 102,3±23,4 (dependência modificada) e na reavaliação 107±18,6 (independência modificada) (p=0,044). Foi possível concluir que a intervenção trouxe benefícios aos idosos, tornando-se uma alternativa para a reabilitação física e cognitiva dessa população.
Com o aumento da longevidade, é possível observar uma maior parcela de idosos, os quais muitas vezes apresentam déficits na capacidade física, mental e cognitiva. Em decorrência deste fenômeno surgiram Instituições de Longa Permanência de Idosos (ILPIs), designada ao cuidado dos idosos, tanto para aqueles que necessitam de uma assistência maior quanto para aqueles que apresentam uma boa independência funcional. Objetivo: Avaliar o grau de capacidade funcional de idosos institucionalizados, identificando suas principais limitações no domínio cognitivo e motor. Métodos: Estudo transversal, quantitativo, descritivo e analítico com 12 idosos residentes da ILPI em um município do Noroeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Foram utilizados como instrumentos norteadores um questionário sociodemográfico e a medida de independência funcional (MIF). Resultados: Os idosos institucionalizados apresentaram na escala total da MIF independência funcional completa com escore de 116,42 ±14,0, porém o item de domínio cognitivo correspondeu a cognição social apresentando escore de 16,92 ±3,73. Conclusão: Os idosos institucionalizados apresentaram resultado final independência completa, porém os escores da cognição social mais especificamente a resolução de problemas teve pior desempenho.
O objetivo da pesquisa foi avaliar a aceitação do game Motion Rehab por idosos com sequelas de AVE que o utilizaram em um processo de reabilitação. Participaram 10 idosos de ambos os sexos, com idade média de 67,7 ± 7,1 anos, com predominância do AVE isquêmico e frequentadores deum Centro de Reabilitação Física. Para a avaliação foi utilizado um questionário construído com base no Modelo de Aceitação de Tecnologia (Technology Acceptance Model - TAM). Os resultados mostram que as idosas têm uma tendência maior a aceitar o game como ferramenta auxiliar de reabilitação. A avaliação também aponta que o game é um elemento motivador, servindo de estímulo à realização dos exercícios durante cada sessão de fisioterapia.
Introdução: A Doença Pulmonar Obstrutiva Crônica (DPOC), mundialmente, configura uma das principais causas de morbimortalidade. Atualmente, é a quarta causa de óbitos no mundo, tendendo a ser a terceira causa de morte para 2020. Então, torna-se importante identificar o perfil destes pacientes para que se criem estratégias de intervenção e atenuação do quadro. Objetivo: Analisar o perfil de pacientes internados com DPOC no ano de 2018 em um Hospital porte IV do interior do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Métodos: Um estudo transversal de pacientes internados entre janeiro e dezembro de 2018. A coleta dos dados foi realizada em agosto de 2019, com relatório informatizado específico fornecido pelo hospital, por meio do Código Internacional de Doenças – DPOC (CID 10 – J44), respeitando o sigilo das informações. Coletaram-se para análise: a idade, sexo, tempo de internação hospitalar e em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI), mortalidade hospitalar, utilização de Ventilação Não Invasiva (VNI) e Ventilação Mecânica Invasiva (VMI), e sessões de fisioterapia. A apresentação dos dados teve como média ± desvio padrão. Resultados: Amostra contituída de 33 pacientes, média de idade de 70,48±11,03 anos, predominantemente sexo masculino, com 21 (64%) indivíduos. O tempo médio de internação na UTI e hospitalar foi de 0,91±2,55 e 9,76±15,33 dias, respectivamente. Cinco pacientes (15,2%) foram para VMI e 23 (69,7%) utilizaram a VNI. A média de sessões fisioterapêuticas foi de 29,45±26,40. A mortalidade geral foi de 8 pacientes (24,24%) predominando o sexo masculino, com 6 (28,6%). Conclusão: Os pacientes apresentaram idade avançada e predomínio do sexo masculino. A mortalidade é semelhante à descrita na literatura e a VNI prevaleceu na abordagem hospitalar.
