Although the combination "landowner-rancher" -"capitalized family farmer" (farmer type) dominates much of the country's regions there are areas of peasants and / or indigenous peasants who give some heterogeneity Argentine agricultural world. In this article, I analyze why the reactivation of cotton in Cruz del Eje, northwest of Córdoba, is presented as a valid illusion back to prosperous past work and production that characterized this remote region of the Buenos Aires port. I examine the experience of the Regional Agricultural Cooperative Ltda., and how through the reactivation of cotton production and organization, small peasants and workers have renewed possibilities to improve their living and working.
