Field experiment were executed at Gemmiza Agricultural Research Station during season 2009 /2010, to study effect of irrigation systems, drip (surface and subsurface) irrigation and traditional irrigation. Levels of nitrogen fertilizer inputs and row width on lettuce fresh weight (gm) , lettuce fresh tall (cm) , The objectives of study are evaluation trickle irrigation systems on lettuce crop. Surface drip (DI), subsurface drip irrigation(SDI) compared with surface irrigation ( SI) and the interactions of water and nitrogen fertilizer inputs on crop yield and quality The effect of irrigation systems, the results indicated that .increase the lettuce fresh weight (gm) , lettuce fresh tall (cm) , number of fresh leaf, lettuce stem weight (gm) and lettuce stem tall(cm).
This investigation was carried out at private farm in El Gharbeia Governorate during seasons 2009 /2010 and 2010 /2011 to study the effects of two irrigation systems (surface and sprinkler) under three irrigation levels of 0. 6 , 0.8 and 1.0 from the ETc on applied irrigation water , yield and yield components for cumin. Data show the values of Kc during different stages .Kc increased from initial stage to mid-season then decreased to harvest stage Water applied values were 28 , 48 , 68 , 40,and 20 mm for initial , development , mid-season , late and harvest stages respectively. Data indicated that , using sprinkler irrigation system reduced the applied of amounts of irrigation water by 47.85 and 45.50 % in the two growing seasons comparing with surface irrigation. Meanwhile, yield increased by about 10.16 and 12.52 % under sprinkler system irrigation comparing with surface irrigation in first and second growing seasons respectively. While decrease water use efficiency under surface irrigation by 52.7 and 53.6% comparing with sprinkler irrigation in two seasons respectively. On the other hand as water as decreased from 1.0 to 0.8 and 0.6 from ETc (evapotranspiration), Cumin yield decreased by 14.05 and 14.25 and by 25.6 and 26.89 % in the two seasons respectively. Also , water use efficiency increased by 5.26 , 19.30 , 10.17 and 16.9 % in two seasons comparing by 1.0 ETc respectively .
This study was carried out in Kalabsho Region, El-Dakhlia Governorate, during 2007 winter season to identify effect of precision land leveling on faba bean response to compost application in sandy soils. The experiment was designed statistically as a split plots with three replicates. The main plots were located for the precision land leveling levels of 0, 0.01, 0.02 and 0.03% slope, which were compared with the traditional land leveling (0.01% slope), and the sub plots were devoted for the compost amount levels of 1.60, 2.00 and 2.40 Mg/fed, which were compared with the bereaved of compost application. The precision land leveling slope of 0.02% under compost application of 2.40 Mg/fed achieved the lower soil bulk density value of 1.28 g/m3, the lower soil infiltration rate value of 20 mm/h and the higher concentration of soil macronutrients values of 24, 17 and 311 ppm for N, P and K, respectively. It required the lower total applied irrigation water amount of 1415 m3/fed. It achieved higher grain yield of 1.40 Mg/fed. and higher water use efficiency of 0.98 kg/m 3 . Generally, it is recommended to apply the precision land leveling under compost application to achieve higher faba bean grain yield and save more irrigation water in sandy soils.
