Throughout this paper, the theoretical concepts from the above areas were combined with the analysis and interpretation of statistical data from the same areas of interest, resulting in a detailed analysis of how the agricultural labour force influences the yields of the five most important crops in the Romanian agricultural sector, namely, wheat, maize, sunflower, rapeseed and soybean. The analysis was carried out within the eight NUTS-listed development regions. A bibliometric analysis of the importance of the academic environment for agricultural labour force research was previously carried out using VOSviewer software. The content of this document aims to determine the impact that the agricultural labour force has on the productivity of the five main crops cultivated in Romania over large areas during the period 2015–2019, where, although the population employed in agriculture has decreased, the yields of these crops have increased due to the technological development process started in agriculture. As of 2019, only 9% of the total Romanian population is represented by the population employed in agriculture and 39.41% and 61.37% of the total area of the country are represented by arable/agricultural area, respectively.
In this paper, an analysis of the possibilities of development of milk processing activity was made, using as financing source the public funds provided by the Common Agricultural Policy and the distribution of the investments in Romania. All the EU member states gain 99.6 billion through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, the period 2014-2020, of which Romania has received the total of 8.128 billion euros. Through the 2014-2020 National Rural Development Program (NRDP 2014-2020), sub-measure 4.2 "Support for investment in processing/marketing of agricultural products" (2014), Romania is falling Regulation (EC) 1305/2013 in measure 4 "Investments in physical assets" (2013) and contributes to increasing the value added of products on local markets and inter-professional organizations, the establishment and development of small businesses and job creation. Until now, in the milk processing sector, investments of 93,918,043 euros were made, about 50% (47,667.41 euros) of which from public funds.
Romania has tradition in walnut culture and favorable climatic conditions. In order to establish the suitable cultivars for growing into the Northern Oltenia area several walnut cultivars of different origin were evaluated for productivity and fruits quality. Twelve Romanian cultivars and two foreign ones with terminal bearing and 10 cultivars with lateral bearing from France and U.S.A. were studied during 18 years of yielding with no irrigation. The group of lateral bearing cultivars proved to be more productive in the environmental conditions of the study area, the highest average yields were recorded for ‘Vina’ (3.64 t ha-1), ‘Hartley’ (3.59 t ha-1), ‘Ferjean’ (3.52 t ha-1), ‘Payne’ (3.45 t ha-1), ‘Pedro’ (3.39 t ha-1), etc. The most productive terminal bearing cultivars were: ‘Jupânești’ (2.88 t ha-1), ‘Valcor’ (2.77 t ha-1), ‘Franquette’ (2.71 t ha-1), ‘Valcris’ (2.62 t ha-1), etc. Although the lateral bearing cultivars emphasized good yields, their extensive culture into the areas with continental type of climatic conditions should be further analysed. The walnut kernel and oil content show that the cultivars are very similar regarding chemical composition when growing under same conditions in Northern Oltenia.
