To address taxonomic problems stemming from treatments in the Flora of Turkey and other publications, Tulipa is revised for Turkey. Following detailed morphological and cytotaxonomic studies of the taxa, Tulipa in Turkey has been found to be represented by 17 species, two subspecies and two varieties (in total 19 taxa). A new key for the species and detailed descriptions of taxa are provided, as are synonyms and typification as far as possible, distribution, habitat types, localities and conservation status of all taxa. These studies are based on approximately 1000 fresh and 2000 herbarium specimens. Adopting the classification of Van Raamsdonk & De Vries, Tulipa is divided into two subgenera, Eriostemones and Tulipa, which were previously treated as sections by Marais in Flora of Turkey following Boissier’s classification. Tulipa subgenus Eriostemones is divided into two sections following Baker's treatment: Sylvestres and Saxatiles. However, section Sylvestres is again divided into two subsections following Baker and Hall's treatments: Sylvestres and Biflores (here described). Section Saxatiles is further divided into three subsections, with the addition of two new subsections: Saxatiles, Orphanidetes and Humiles. The type subgenus Tulipa is divided into two sections: Tulipa and Clusianae. In subsection Humiles, T. pulchella is accepted at species rank, having usually been placed as a synonym of T. humilis. Some previously uncollected species (T. raddii and T. saxatilis) and a doubtful record (T. clusiana), after the first collection of material in Turkey, have been recollected and verified.

lnfrageneric states and chemosystematic relationships are discussed by using some selected essential oil components and morphometrical characters. Morphologic and morphometric analysis are carried out on 20 Abies population and essential oil analysis on the twig with needle are carried out by using GC. techniques. The qualitative major constituents are found as same in the whole studied species but their quantitative content varies significantly. Inter and intrapopulational variations are found at the high ratio in the Abies taxa. The results are presented in graphical form, allowing patterns of variable intercorrelations and compared with phylogenetic patterns. Tree to tree variation of quantitative terpene composition of the leaf oil is sufficiently to permit chemosystematic discussions and understanding evolutionary phenomenon in the light of literatures. Chromosome numbers and morphometric parameters of five Crocus L. taxa were examined. Except C. specious Bieb. subsp. specious, and C. olivieri Gay subsp. olivieri, the other 3 taxa, C. abantensis T. Baytop et Mathew, C. ancyrensis (Herbert) Maw, and C. biflorus Miller subsp. pulchricolor (Herbert) Mathew all are endemic for Turkey. The chromosome numbers of C. abantensis 2n = 8 chromosomes, six of them metacentric and two were submetacentric, C. ancyrensis and C. olivieri subsp. olivieri both had 2n = 6 chromosomes and all the chromosomes were subtelocentric, finally C. specious subsp. specious and C. biflorus subsp. pulchricolor both had 2n = 8 chromosomes and all were submetacentric. Although some of the taxa chromosome numbers were known from previous studies, in this study some different counts were and their detailed karyotypes were presented.
