Abstrak: Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses berpikir kreatif siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika berdasarkan model Wallas (1926). Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 6 siswa kelas VII, masing-masing dua siswa memiliki kemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses berpikir kreatif siswa kategori tinggi yaitu siswa memahami permasalahan dan informasi yang diberikan dengan menuliskan apa yang diketahui maupun yang ditanyakan (persiapan), siswa tidak membutuhkan waktu yang lama untuk memikirkan solusi dari permasalahan yang dihadapi dengan mengingat soal yang sudah diajarkan (inkubasi), siswa mendapatkan ide untuk memecahkan masalah (Iluminasi), dan siswa menguji ide dan memeriksa kembali pemecahan masalah sebelum mengambil kesimpulan yang tepat (verifikasi). Proses berpikir kreatif siswa kategori sedang yaitu siswa mencoba untuk memahami permasalahan akan tetapi kurang memahami informasi atau petunjuk yang diberikan (persiapan), siswa diam megingat kembali rumus yang digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah (Inkubasi), siswa menghasilkan ide berdasarkan pemahamannya terhadap soal untuk memecahkan masalah (Iluminasi), dan siswa menguji ide dihasilkan dan tidak memeriksa kembali proses pemecahan masalah (verifikasi). Proses berpikir kreatif siswa kategori rendah yaitu siswa tidak memahami permasalahan dan informasi yang diberikan (persiapan), siswa membutuhkan waktu yang lama untuk memikirkan solusi dari permasalahan (Inkubasi), siswa gagal dalam menemukan ide untuk memecahkan permasalahan (Iluminasi), dan siswa menguji ide yang dihasilkan dan tidak memeriksa kembali jawaban yang telah diujikan (verifikasi). The research is to find the dominant factors influencing students` pronunciation mastery at English department of STKIP PGRI West Sumatera. This research is using qualitative research method. Total of participants are 10 English students academic year 2016/2017 in English Department of STKIP PGRI West Sumatera who are getting the best mark in pronunciation class. Sample of the research was selected by using purposive sampling technique. The instrument of the research is interview. The purpose of the interview is to get the real arguments about factor influencing students` pronunciation mastery. This research revealed that motivation is the dominant factor influencing students` pronunciation mastery. Most of the students were motivated to increase their pronunciation because they were motivated by native speakers-watching the western or English movies and songs. Besides, they also argued that they wanted to go to overseas so, they should produce the word with correctly pronounced to avoid misunderstanding for both speaker. Based on the data obtained, it can be stated that motivation is the dominant factor influencing students` pronunciation mastery in academic year 2016/2017 at English Department of STKIP PGRI West Sumatera.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan lagu Bahasa Inggris dalam memperkenalkan kosakata Bahasa Inggris oleh guru di Taman Kanak–Kanak Murni Padang. Peneliti menganalisis tahap penerapan sebuah lagu bahasa Inggris yang dapat digunakan oleh guru Bahasa Inggris dalam memperkenalkan kosakata Bahasa Inggris berdasarkan teori dari Case, Lynch, dan Sophya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti meminta peneliti sejawat memberikan evaluasi dalam bentuk ceklis observasi yang berisi saran dari peneliti sejawat tentang ketiga tahap observasi penelitian yang telah dilakukan. Dari data yang diberikan oleh peneliti sejawat setelah melakukan tiga kali observasi, ditemukan bahwa guru belum menerapkan seluruh tahap pengajaran dengan sempurna dan anak TK belum mengenal kosakata disaat observasi pertama. Saat observasi kedua, guru telah menerapkan seluruh tahap pengajaran dan anak TK mulai mengenal kosakata. Di akhir observasi, peneliti sejawat menganalisis bahwa peneliti mampu menerapkan seluruh tahap pengajaran lagu bahasa Inggris kepada anak TK Murni dan anak TK mampu mengenal kosakata yang telah dipelajari. Disimpulkan dari hasil penelitian ini bahwa peneliti sudah mampu melakukan seluruh tahapan pengajaran bahasa Inggris melalui lagu dan anak TK meningkat kosakata yang dikenal secara bertahap.
Nonverbal communication is one of the communication types which are done in teaching and learning process. This research aims to analyze nonverbal communication types done by teachers in English teaching and learning process in SMP Negeri 10 Padang. It is a descriptive research in which the participants are two English teachers which taught at VII Grade SMP Negeri 10 Padang. The data were collected through observation checklist and field note and were analyzed by using Schmitz's (2012) nonverbal communication theory. The result of the research shown that teacher at VII Grade SMP Negeri 10 Padang used nonverbal communication types such as Kinesics; using movement, Vocalics; using voice and intonation, and Proxemics; using distance, however, the teachers did not use Haptics, using touch, in English teaching and learning process. In conclusion, English teachers at VII Grade SMP Negeri 10 Padang had used nonverbal communication types and applied them in teaching and learning process.
