From a large number of accelerometer measurements, total density, density scale height, temperature and O/N, ratio can be deduced simultaneously. By taking advantage of these data, the amplitude of thermospheric parameters changes is reexamined in equatorial regions for altitudes between 290-390 km. The behaviour of the different responses is described and evaluated according to the value of the geomagnetic index K p and the local solar time, which appear to be the major parameters. The results are compared to different models.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
