Background: Feline panleukopenia is a viral disease caused by the family of Parvoviridae. Many species of pets, especially cats, that if they have been infected, compromised health and can lead to death. Purpose: To determine the infection pattern and treatment of feline panleukopenia in cats at the Educational Animal Hospital of Universitas Airlangga. Method: Ten patients were recorded as infected with parvovirus from a total of 1107 patients with various disease complaints. Daily records were taken regarding all clinical symptoms, physical examination, and treatment. Result: After four weeks, the obtained data were calculated. Thus, we collect data that show essential factors that can be used to determine the diagnose of feline panleukopenia in cats. Conclusion: Most parvovirus infections occurred in cats aged two to four years by showing abnormalities in temperature, breathing, and turgor. Clinical symptoms that appeared include vomiting, diarrhea, and high dehydration. Treatments were used to suppress the secondary effects of parvovirus infection and besides to eradicate the virus itself.
The hematology examination be able to descript the health of fish. The aim of this research was to study leukocyte and differential counting leukocyte in Carp (Cyprinus carpio Linn) after infected by Aeromonas salmonicida. P0 was a control group, not infected with Aeromonas salmonicida. P1, P2, and P3 group was infected by Aeromonas salmonicida through different doses, 10 5 cell/ml, 10 6 cell/ml, 10 7 cell/ml. Three days after infection, blood samples were obtained from Punctie Vena Caudal which deposited into EDTA tubes. Total number leukocyte and differential counting leukocyte analyzed were carried out with the collected blood samples. Data were analyzed with ANOVA (Analysis of Variant) then followed with Duncan's multiple range test significance level of 5%. The results showed there was significant increase (p<0.05) in the number of leukocytes compared with control (P0). There was significant increase (p<0.05) in the number of neutrophils and decrease in the number of eusinophils, lymphocytes and monocytes. The number of basophils were not significant decrease (p<0.05).
Background and Aim: Antibiotics that increase growth have long been employed as a component of chicken growth. Long-term, unchecked usage may lead to microbial imbalance, resistance, and immune system suppression. Probiotics are a suitable and secure feed additive that may be provided as a solution. The objective of this research was to ascertain the effects of dietary multistrain probiotics (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium spp., and Lactobacillus plantarum) on the morphology (length and weight) of reproductive organs and productivity performance of laying hens during the early stage of laying. Materials and Methods: One hundred ISA Brown commercial layer chicks of the same body weight (BW) that were 5 days old were divided into five treatments, each with four replicates and four chicks in each duplicate. There were five different dietary interventions: (T1) 100% base feed; (T2) base feed with 2.5 g of antibiotic growth promoter/kg feed; (T3) base feed plus probiotics; (T4) base feed at 1 mL/kg with probiotics; and (T5) base feed with probiotics, 3 mL/kg feed, 5 mL/kg of feed. The parameters observed were performance, internal and exterior egg quality, and the morphology (length and weight) of laying hens’ reproductive organs. Results: Probiotic supplementation (L. acidophilus, Bifidobacterium, and L. plantarum) significantly affected the BW, feed intake, egg weight, yolk index, albumin index, Haugh unit, egg height, egg width, and morphology (length and weight) of laying hens’ reproductive organs compared to the control group (basic feed). In addition, there was no discernible difference between treatment groups in theeggshell weight and thickness variables across all treatment groups. Conclusion: When laying hens were between 17 and 21 weeks old, during the early laying period, microbiota inoculum supplements (L. acidophilus, Bifidobacterium, and L. plantarum) increased growth, the quality of the internal and external layers’ eggs, and the morphology of the laying hens’ reproductive organs. Keywords: external quality eggs, good health, growth performance, internal quality eggs, probiotics, reproductive organs.
This study aimed to evaluate the potential of rice bran fermented by the enzyme phytase in basal feed to the total blood cholesterol level of laying hen. This research use an experimental method in vivo with a completely randomized design consisting of six treatments and four replications in each treatment. The experimental animals used 24 48-week-old female laying hen strain Isa Brown. The treatment wa given basal feed substituted with different percentage of fermented rice bran by phytase enzyme and 2% lemuru fish oil supplementation. In this research the amount of fermented rice bran by phytase enzyme substituted on basal feed was: treatment P0 (-) (0%), P0 (+) (0%), P1 (5%), P2 (10%) P3 (15%) and P4 (20%). The results of the statistical analysis showed that there are no significant differences (p> 0.05) on total blood cholesterol levels in all treatments. The conclusion of the research is that rice bran fermented by phytase enzymes tends to decrease total blood cholesterol levels in laying hen.
Gajah Village is one of the villages located in Baureno District, Bojonegoro Regency. In Gajah Village there is Bukit Kapur which is a former mining activity in the form of an elongated basin or valley, residents call it the Valley of Love. However, according to the local village government, there is no management related to the Valley and it is still unknown to the wider community.
