Measurements are described on the dissociation constant of hydrogen peroxide in aqueous solution and from these measurements at different temperatures the heat of dissociation is evaluated. This value has enabled us to estimate the electron affinity plus the solvation energy of the 0,H radical. Values of AG, A H and A S for the dissociation of water and hydrogen peroxide are compared. Measurements are also reported on the proton affinity of H,O,. Calculations based on existing data are given for the electron affinities and solvation energies of OH, O,H, 0, and 0,
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
