A method for the simultaneous determination of aluminium and zinc in their mixtures by first-and second-derivative synchronous fluorimetry is described. The method is based on the fluorescent complexes formed by aluminium and zinc with 8-hydroxyquinoline-5-sulphonic acid in the presence of hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide as a surfactant. The range of application is between 0.02 and 0.10 pg ml-1 for aluminium and between 0.1 and 1.0 pg ml-1 for zinc. The accuracy and precision of the method are reported.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
