Pechmann') in Rage, Anlagerung von Natriumdisulfit an die Isonitrosoverbindung einesMethylketons und Zersetzung des Anlagerungsproduktes mit verd. Saurc. Die Umsatze fiihren aukrordentlich leicht zu Nebenreaktionen ; selbst im verhaltnis-maI3ig giiustigen Falle der Darstellung von Phenyl-glyoxal kann man nicht aui eine wesentlich iiber 2 5 % d. Th. gehende Ausbeute. bezogen auf das angewandte Acetophenon, rechnen. Die nach dieser Methode versuchte Darstellung von Saphthyl-glyoxal ist v. P e c h m a n n iiberhaupt nicht gelungen.Eine weitere Methode ist die von J. U. Nef und seinen Schiilern W. I,. E v a n s s ) und W. Denis3) gefundene, die auf der oxydierenden Einwirkung von Kupferacetat auf die entsprechenden Ketole beruht. Sie wird fur Phenyl-glyoxal neuerdings wieder von M. Henze4) empfohlen, der aber nicht erwahnt, da0 die von ihm in einer besonderen Mitteilung ausfiihrlich beschriebene Vorschrift zur Darstellung dieser Verbindung nur eine Modifikation des von den genannten Autoren aufgefundenen Verfahrens ist. In h b e t r a c h t der betrachtlichen Verluste, die schon bei der Darstellung der Ketole aus den entsprechenden Methyl-ketonen unvermeidlich sind, und der Langwierigkeit des auch von uns erprobten Verfahrens, das sich nach den vorlicgenden Vorschriften durcb Wochen hinziehen kann, ist auch dieses Verfahren weder als ausgiebig, noch als bequem anzusprechen. la) D a k i n , Journ. chem. Die eingehendere Untersuchung der genannten Tetraphenyl-athan-Derivate hat jedoch gezeigt, daQ diese Verbindungsklasse in ihren Eigenschaften von den ihr nachstverwandten Di-und Triphenyl-methan-Derivaten erheblich abweichende Eigenschaften besitzt und besonders durch die Eigenart der Umlagerung und Spaltungsvorgange aus dem Rahmen der ieinfachen Verbindungs-Typen, sei es des aminierten Di-und Triphenyl-methans oder auch des unsubstituierten 'l'etraphenyl-athans sich heraushebt. Eigentiinilicherweise haben gerade die farb igen salzartigen Verbindungen, die aus den yon uns bearbeiteten Verbindun gen entstehen, im Gegensatz zu den eingehendst untersuchten Farbsalzen der Di-und Triphenyl-methan-Reihe bis in die neueste Zeit nur eine a d e r s t oberflachliche Untersuchung erfahren. Den wenigen alteren Angaben z, uber das Auftreten farbiger Verbindungen der Tetraphenyl-athan-Reihe ist erst in einem kiirzlich erschienenen Heft der ,,Herichte" eine Mitteilung von R.Wizinger und J. F o n t a i n e 3 ) iiber Tetraphenyl-athan-Farbsalze gefolgt, denen es gelungen ist, eine Reihe derselben in analysierbarem Zustande darzustellen, unter ihnen auch solche, die wir untersucht hatten.Als die Mitteilung von Wizinger und F o n t a i n e erschien, war unsere Arbeit bereits abgeschl~ssen~). Sie befafit sich im Gegensatz zu jener nur init denj enigen Verbindungen, die sich von einem Tetraphenyl-athan ableiten, das in seinen vier Phenylresten vier oder zwei symmetrisch verteilte p-standige Dimethylamino-gruppen enthalt. Wir haben aber neben den von dem genannten Autor schon beschriebenen, aus aminierten Tetraphenyiathylenen und Benzpinakonen entstehenden, symmetrischen Farbsalzen auch unsymmetrische erhalten und vor allem die g e n e t i s c h e n Beziehungen d e r drei Verbindungsklassen k t h y l e n e , I'inakone u n d P i n a k o l i n e studiert, so daB wir jener auf zahlreichere Beispiele ausgedehnten, aber sich auf die Bildungsweisen des einen symnietrischen Verbindungs -Typus von Farbstoffen beschrankenden Untersuchung j etzt ein wohl im wesentlichen erschopfendes Bild des eigenartigen Verhaltens der aminierten Derivate des Tetraphenyl-athans zur Seite stellen konnen.Die '...
