Aus dem Cyanbenzocyclobuten (I) erhält man nach Metallierung und Umsetzung mit Dimethyldisulfid (II) das Cyansulfid (III), das mit Naphthochinon (IV) über das Diels‐Alder‐Addukt (V) das Tetracen (VI) liefert.
