With increasing global competitions there is a growing need to develop environmentally benevolent nanoparticles without the use of toxic chemicals. The biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using plant extracts became one of the potential areas of research. The bioreduction of metal ion is quite rapid, readily perform at room temperature and easily scale up. The present study describes a rapid and eco-friendly synthesis of AgNPs using Eclipta alba plant extract in a single pot process. The efficiency and the influence of various process variables in the biosynthesis of AgNPs analysed include redundant concentration, temperature and time. AgNPs were rapidly synthesized using aqueous leaf extract of E. alba and was observed when the medium turned to brown colour with the addition of silver ion. Biosynthesized AgNPs were characterized by the help of UV-visible spectroscopy for their stability and physicochemical parameters were studied by dynamic light scattering, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy. The obtained results confirmed that recorded UV spectra show the characteristic surface plasmon resonance band for AgNPs in the range of 400-440 nm and physiochemical structural analysis shown that obtained AgNPs were crystalline in nature. Further, cytotoxic and antimicrobial activities of biosynthesized AgNPs against RAW 254.7, MCF-7 and Caco-2 cells as well as Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria were assessed. In-vitro cytotoxicity activity of characterized AgNPs against tested cell lines showed significant anti-cell-proliferation effect in nanomolar concentrations. The antibacterial activity of synthesized AgNPs showed effective inhibitory activity against human pathogens, including, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Thus, the significant outcome of this study would help to formulate value added herbal-based nano-materials in biomedical and nanotechnology industries.

Membrane lipid peroxidation and DNA, protein damage is mediated by free radicals, which form the basis of chronic pathological complications.AgNPs are an important class of nanomaterials for a wide range of biomedical applications. The present study endeavors in vitro antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity of green synthesized silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using medicinal plant extract from Caesalpinia bonducella seeds. Total flavonoid and phenolic contents were determined. The antioxidant potential of capped AgNPs was assessed using DPPH assay, Phosphomolybdenum assay, FRAP assay, metal chelating, hydrogen peroxide, and hydroxyl radical scavenging methods. In vitro anti-inflammatory assay of CB seed, AgNPs were performed against the standard drug. CB seed AgNPs possessed high flavonoid and phenol compared to aqueous CB seed extract. The antioxidant methods confirmed that the silver nanoparticles have more antioxidant activity as compared to vitamin C. The synthesized silver nanoparticles exhibited potential anti-inflammatory activity with the IC50 71.3µg/ml. Hence, this work clearly demonstrated that the coated AgNPs with CB seeds act as a potent free radical scavenger and could be considered as a potential source for anti-inflammatory drugs.

Objective: To synthesis silver nanoparticles from aqueous leaf extract of Cardiospermum halicacabum and Butea monosperma and analyze the phytochemical constituent and evaluate the antibacterial activity using this silver nanoparticle. Materials and methods: For the synthesis of silver nanoparticle, 1mM silver nitrate is used. Preliminary phytochemical analysis of silver nanoparticle was analyzed using standard procedures. The antibacterial activity was evaluated using agar diffusion method. Results: The phytochemical analysis of the silver nanoparticle exhibited the presence of alkaloids, Tannin, phenol, carbohydrate, terpenoid. The antibacterial activity of silver nanoparticle against Pseudomonas, Bacillus cereus, citrobacter and E.coli, The whole plant of Cardiosperm halicacabum and Butea monsperma leaf parts have prominent antimicrobial properties. Conclusion: The silver nanoparticle of Cardiospermum halicacabum and Butea monosperma were found to be a powerful antimicrobial agent and this study can be continued for their structural elucidation and pharmacological activity.
