Este estudo teve como objetivo caracterizar a atuação dos Agentes Comunitários de Saúde de Unidades Básicas de Saúde da Família de Três Lagoas - Mato Grosso do Sul. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo e de abordagem quantitativa realizado com 68 agentes de sete unidades com Estratégia Saúde da Família. As respostas à entrevista individual foram analisadas pela estatística descritiva. Predominaram mulheres entre 40 e 49 anos, casadas, com ensino médio completo e atuando por cinco a dez anos. A maioria participou de curso introdutório e todos realizaram alguma capacitação. Os participantes relataram conhecer suas atribuições e apontaram a visita domiciliar como atividade mais frequente e consideraram que as ações de controle e prevenção de dengue são inerentes a sua atuação; revelaram realizar atividades que não são de sua responsabilidade. Conclui-se que os agentes comunitários apresentam fragilidades em reconhecer suas atribuições no desempenho de suas atividades.
A realização sistemática do exame médico de saúde ocupacional é essencial para a manutenção e acompanhamento das condições de saúde e doença dos trabalhadores. O objetivo deste trabalho foi caracterizar a situação de saúde dos servidores lotados nas Casas de Saúde Indígena e Polos-Base de Mato Grosso do Sul. Este estudo descritivo com abordagem quantitativa utilizou 70 fichas, analisadas por estatística descritiva. Predominaram o sexo masculino, idade acima de 50 anos, ensino médio completo e 21 a 35 anos de serviço. Dentre os problemas de saúde autorreferidos, as patologias osteomusculares foram as mais frequentes. Os níveis de pressão predominantes foram os do grupo que congregou normais limítrofes e hipertensos (37; 52,86%). O índice de massa corpórea revelou 29 casos (41,42%) de sobrepeso e 21 (29,98%) de obesidade. Nos exames laboratoriais predominaram 24 casos (34,28%) de glicemia de jejum alterada, 13 (18,57%) confirmatórios de diabetes e hiperglicemia e 59 (84,29%) e 43 (61,42%), respectivamente, de colesterol e triglicérides em níveis desejáveis. Constatou-se que a saúde desses trabalhadores encontra-se fragilizada.
