Introdução: A disfagia é uma alteração da deglutição que pode dificultar ou impedir a ingestão de alimentos ou de saliva. A intubação orotraqueal é um procedimento médico muito utilizado para suporte respiratório e tem sido relatado na literatura como um fator que contribui para desenvolvimento da disfagia. Objetivo: revisar a literatura quanto a presença de disfagia em pacientes submetidos à intubação orotraqueal. Método: Revisão Integrativa de Literatura a partir dos Descritores em Ciências da Saúde (DECS): Intubação intratraqueal, transtornos da deglutição, deglutição e fonoaudiologia. Após o levantamento dos estudos, foram selecionados somente os artigos publicados com resumos e textos disponíveis integralmente nas bases de dados Literatura Latino-americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), Medline, PubMed e Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) nos idiomas português e inglês. O período de corte delimitado foi de janeiro de 2010 a julho de 2022. Resultados: Compuseram a amostra 17 artigos, sendo que os anos de 2018 e 2020 apresentaram maior concentração de estudos publicados sobre a temática (n=4). O periódico que apresentou maior número de publicações dessa natureza foi o Journal of Critical Care (n=3), sendo os demais publicados em periódicos de outras especialidades. A maioria dos estudos (n=12) foram experimentais. Conclusão: Muito embora a disfagia esteve fortemente relacionada com a intubação orotraqueal, os estudos analisados não apresentaram efetividade na avaliação da severidade da disfagia e consenso entre a relação tempo de intubação e fisiopatologia da disfagia.
Complicações tardias da COVID-19, que podem durar meses, têm sido recorrentemente descritas na literatura. A Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) identificou três principais sintomas pós-COVID-19: fadiga, falta de ar/dificuldade para respirar e comprometimento cognitivo. Objetivo: Verificar as alterações na capacidade cognitiva de indivíduos pós-COVID-19 mais frequentemente descritas na literatura. Método: Revisão Integrativa da Literatura, a partir das bases de dados: Literatura Latino-americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) e National Library of Medicine (PUBMED). Critérios de inclusão: artigos na íntegra publicados nos idiomas inglês e português, publicados entre 2019 a 2022, que avaliassem as alterações cognitivas objetivas em adultos não-hospitalizados sem comprometimento cognitivo prévio. Foram excluídos artigos de revisão, estudos com amostra inferior a 10 indivíduos, sem diagnóstico confirmado por teste Reverse Transcription – Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR), artigos com acesso pago e artigos duplicados nas bases de dados. Foram utilizados os descritores: “covid-19”, “cognitive dysfunction” e “memory disorders”, com seus respectivos correspondentes em português. Resultados: Foram encontrados 29 artigos referentes à influência da infecção do SARS-COV-2 e da doença do coronavírus 19 (COVID-19), na cognição de pacientes com quadros persistentes após COVID-19. As principais funções afetadas pela COVID-19 foram: Atenção, Memória, Função Executiva e Velocidade de Processamento, associada ou não a fatores de gravidade e a sintomatologia da COVID-19. Conclusão: Prejuízos na função cognitiva foram os mais prevalentes em pacientes pós-COVID-19.
