O mercado para folhagem de corte é crescente no Brasil, entretanto, as técnicas utilizadas no processo da pós-colheita são pouco conhecidas. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi realizar a caracterização física de três espécies de <i>Chamaedorea (C. costaricana Oerst., C. microspadix Burret, C. seifrizii Burret)</i> e testar métodos de conservação pós-colheita para as mesmas. Após a caracterização física destas folhagens e durante o processo de senescência, verificou-se que para as folhas cortadas de <i>Chamaedorea</i> os parâmetros de avaliação devem ser brilho, perda de turgescência e mudança de cor das folhagens. Foram testadas soluções de condicionamento por 24 horas, contendo sacarose (0, 1, 2 e 4 %) e ácido cítrico (200 mg L-1),entretanto, verificou-se que esse tipo de solução não teve efeito na conservação destas folhagens. Utilizou-se, também, spray de cera de carnaúba para evitar a perda de brilho e turgescência, contudo, esta não foi efetiva. Constatou-se que, <i>C. costaricana e C. seifrizii</i> podem ser armazenadas a 5 0C por 10 dias, e que está temperatura não foi adequada para a C. microspadix. Conclui-se que, as três espécies podem ser utilizadas para folhagem de corte, visto que, quando mantidas em água, têm grande durabilidade pós-colheita.
