El rendimiento a la carcasa de cuyes machos que fueron alimentados con gramíneas tropicales en Morona Santiago, se realizó en la ESPOCH Sede Morona Santiago, para esto se utilizaron cuatro pastos: Axonopus scoparius (Gramalote – Tratamiento1), Pennisetum sp (Maralfalfa- Tratamiento 2), Pennisetum purpureum (Pasto elefante- Tratamiento 3) y Tripsacum laxum (Pasto Guatemala- Tratamiento 4) con diez repeticiones cada uno, dando un total de 40 cuyes machos, los mismos que consumieron los pastos señalados desde el destete hasta el sacrificio (150 días de edad), se distribuyeron completamente al azar y sus resultados se analizaron a través de la varianza y la prueba de Tukey (p<0.05); determinándose que la utilización del Axonopus scoparius permitió un peso al destete de 247,84 g, el peso de la canal al sacrificio de 1107.52, 599.63 g, su rendimiento sin ayuno de 54 %, el peso y rendimiento de las vísceras, pelo y sangre fue de 507.89 g y 45.70 %, el peso y rendimiento únicamente de vísceras fue de 375,83 g y 33.80 %, el peso y rendimiento del pelo fue de 78.14 g y 7.06 % y el peso y rendimiento de la sangre fue de 53.92 g y 4.84 % respectivamente, señalándose que este pasto fue más eficiente.
La alimentación de cuyes en la fase de crecimiento en base a gramíneas tropicales se desarrolló en los predios de la ESPOCH Sede Morona Santiago, para lo cual se utilizaron 20 cuyes de 60 días de edad, los mismos que se distribuyeron en cinco tratamientos (Tripsacum laxum, Pennisetum sp, Pennisetum purpureum y Axonopus scoparius) incluido el control y cuatro repeticiones, cada unidad experimental estuvo conformado por un animal el mismo que tuvo un peso promedio de 409.6 g. a los cuales se le alojaron aleatoriamente en una jaula metabólica individual para observar el comportamiento productivo y aprovechamiento del pasto, y asignar los tratamientos al azar a cada cobayo. Diariamente se suministró alimento deshidratado previo el registro de su peso, de la misma manera se pesó los residuos de forraje y las excretas, datos que sirvieron para el análisis. Una vez recopilada y procesada la información obtenida se pudo notar que el peso de los cuyes a los 60 días de investigación, consumo de materia seca, cantidad de heces producida, materia seca aprovechada no registraron diferencias significativas no así, el aprovechamiento de la proteína, grasa, fibra, Fibra Detergente Ácida (FDA) y fibra detergente neutra (FDN) registró diferencias estadísticas. Concluyéndose que el balanceado dispone de mayor cantidad de proteína y grasa aprovechada, aunque el contenido de fibra es escaso, de la misma manera la disponibilidad de FDN y FDA en el pasto Tripsacum laxum está en menor proporción al contrastar con el resto de pastos utilizados en la investigación.
En la provincia Morona Santiago se ha desarrollado la ganadería de carne específicamente el Charolais el mismo que se explota en base al pasto Axonopus scoparius razón por la cual en planteó el “Efecto de la alimentación de terneros Charolais en el cantón Morona” en 30 terneros de tres meses de edad con 82.40 kg de peso en promedio, los cuales se distribuyeron en tres tratamientos (Axonopus scoparius + leche + sales minerales, Axonopus scoparius + leche + sales minerales + balanceado y Axonopus scoparius + leche + sales minerales + balanceado + probióticos) con tres repeticiones, los resultados experimentales se analizaron bajo un Diseño de Bloques Completamente al Azar y separación de medias según DMS. Durante la etapa de crecimiento la utilización de Saccharomyces cerevisiae que permitió registrar parámetros productivos, como 183,00 Kg de peso, un consumo de MS total 695,00 kg, la conversión alimenticia de 7.95 kg, y una condición corporal de 4,41, y un Beneficio / Costo de 1,08 USD, valores que superan significativamente (P<0.01) de los Tratamientos T2 y control; de esta manera se recomienda utilizar probióticos en la alimentación de bovinos en dosis de 5 g /cabeza/día debido a que los resultados fueron satisfactorios.
