En la producción cultural de imágenes distribuidas en internet encontramos la obra de autores radicados en México que proponen representaciones de la masculinidad en clave disidente. Los ilustradores Félix d’Eon, Fabián Cháirez, Wonkamon y Pierna Cruzada problematizan la representación tradicional de la masculinidad hegemónica en la cultura nacional al incluir en la imagen de los hombres el deseo homosexual, los cuerpos feminizados y la diversidad étnica. Este trabajo plantea una mirada queer deconstructiva de las políticas de la identidad nacional. Nuestra propuesta metodológica de alfabetización visual, dado que estas imágenes se distribuyen de forma libre en plataformas digitales, busca visibilizar los mecanismos de la representación queer contemporánea, así como su potencial político.
Este trabajo se enmarca en los estudios de small data (Rogers, 2013) para indagar los efectos y la composición de los datos cuir que realizan en coproducción con las plataformas y los algoritmos las personas de la comunidad Ballroom en Latinoamérica. Reviso el caso de la escena mexicana bajo la etiqueta #ballroommexicano en la plataforma socio-digital de Instagram. Propongo la categoría de cuerpos datificados para hacer inteligible el proceso de datificación (Díaz, 2018) que experimentan los cuerpos que hacen Vogue y la manera en que estas trazas digitales terminan por encarnarse y producir la subjetividad de las personas. Como método realizo un acoplamiento entre herramientas basadas en el uso de software para procesamiento y análisis de imágenes, texto y geolocalizaciones (Rodríguez-Cano, 2021; Sued, 2021) y la etnografía multisituada (Marcus, 1995; Pink, 2019) tanto en la plataforma como en prácticas públicas de Vogue y batallas en Balls. Apoyo la interpretación y análisis con información recabada en entrevistas de corte feminista (Davis y Craven, 2016) a miembrxs de la comunidad de las escenas de Querétaro, CDMX y Bogotá. Para el abordaje teórico empleo teoría crítica feminista (D’Ignazio y Klein (2020) y queer (Guyan, 2022) de datos. Finalmente, establezco conclusiones sobre la composición de los datos cuir, el impacto de los cuerpos datificados en la misma comunidad que los coproduce y los beneficios y riesgos en su manejo.
