Este trabalho apresenta o contexto de um projeto de extensão universitária para construção de um espaço não-formal do ensino de ciências e para experiências multissensoriais, bem como sua execução. As especificidades de projeto, em um contexto de restrições orçamentárias envolvidas na construção e no que pese o respeito aos parâmetros de acessibilidade, torna-o relevante para discussão e divulgação do processo. O jardim foi concebido para ser instalado no Parque das Ciências do Museu Câmara Cascudo da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte como proposta de inclusão social, especialmente de pessoas com deficiência, e de perspectiva pedagógica para o ensino de ciências, sendo ainda uma opção recreativa e uma possibilidade de divulgação temas ligados a sustentabilidade. O objetivo desse espaço é ofertar trocas de experiências e de percepções durante o percurso com públicos diversos. Diante da importância social, este trabalho objetiva relatar os procedimentos de criação e execução do projeto arquitetônico do Jardim Sensorial. Para alcançar tal objetivo foram adotadas as seguintes etapas metodológicas: visita técnica, definição das premissas do projeto, levantamento dimensional e fotográfico, desenho do percurso, análise do percurso, definição dos volumes de vegetação, definição das plantas e projeto arquitetônico. Cabe salientar que o projeto foi desenvolvido de maneira interdisciplinar, envolvendo uma equipe com professores e alunos de arquitetura, design, biologia, química e física. Espera-se que este relato contribua com projetos que envolvam a acessibilidade cultural e a inclusão de pessoas com deficiência.
