PHYSIOLOGICAL PERFORMANCE OF COTTON SEEDS TREATED WITH THIAMETOXAMABSTRACT -The introduction of new seed treatment products is increasing and bioactivators, such as the insecticide thiametoxam, are used to increase plant yield potential by modifying metabolism. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of thiametoxam on the physiological quality of cotton seeds, particularly on seedling root growth, and establish product concentrations for seed pre-treatment. Three seed lots of the cultivar CD 408 were evaluated which had been treated with six dosages of Cruiser® 350 FS containing 35 g/L A.I. of thiametoxam, at 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 mL per kg of seeds. Parameters measured included: standard germination test, germination first count, accelerated ageing, root dry matter and length, emergence velocity rate and final seedling emergence. Cotton seeds treated with thiametoxam demonstrated improved physiological quality of the seeds and the dosages of 5.0 to 7.0 mL of the Cruiser® 350 FS/kg of seeds were more efficient in improving the physiological performance of cotton seeds.
Palavras-chave: Avena strigosa, bioativador, vigor AbstratcThe bioactivator are complex organic substances that can alter the growth, capable of acting on the transcription of DNA into the plant, gene expression, cell membrane proteins, metabolic enzymes and mineral nutrition. The insecticide thiamethoxam has demonstrated positive effects as increased expression of vigor and biomass formation, the elevation of photosynthetic rate and the formation of deeper roots. The aim of this study was to evaluate the physiologic performance of thiamethoxan on the oat. Were used oat seeds and product concentrations 0.0, 100, 200, 300 and 400ml. to 100 kg of seeds. To evaluate the physiological quality of seeds were carried by germination test, first germination, cold test, seedling length, shtoot and root, tetrazolium test and emergency in the greenhouse. The product thiamethoxam stimulates physiologic performance of oat seeds. The use of the 300 ml of thiamethoxam per 100kg, seeds shown to be more efficient to improve the physiological performance of seed oat.
-This study aimed to verify the effect of seeds treated with thiamethoxam on the emergence, growth and chlorophyll content of seedlings of two cotton cultivars subjected to abiotic stress. The seeds used were from the DeltaOpal and NuOpal cultivars, each one represented by three lots, previously subjected to determination of moisture content, germination and vigor (low temperature germination). Then, the seeds from each lot, treated with thiamethoxam at a dose of 600 mL of product per 100 kg -1 seed or not, were exposed to temperature (18, 25 and 35 °C) and water availability (40, 60 and 80%) stress conditions. The emergence percentage, the root and shoot length, and the chlorophyll content were evaluated. The growth of cotton seedlings from the DeltaOpal and NuOpal cultivars, subjected to low temperature conditions and water availability of 40 to 60%, is favored by seed treatment with thiamethoxam. Seed treatment with thiamethoxam increases chlorophyll content during the development of cotton plants.Index terms: bioactivator, chlorophyll, Gossypium hirsutum L., stress. This work aimed to evaluate the effect of thiametoxam, applied via seed, on the chlorophyll index on the development of plants of two cotton cultivars. The work was carried out in the laboratory and in a greenhouse, with seeds from the cultivars DeltaOpal and NuOpal, each represented by three lots. In the laboratory, initial seed quality was determined through water content, germination and low temperature germination. To evaluate the effect of thiametoxam on the biochemical attributes, seeds of both cultivars were treated with the product, using doses of 0 (untreated seeds) and 600 mL of product kg-1 of seed. The seeds were sown in pots accommodated in a greenhouse, and the evaluations were performed every 7 DAE for the chlorophyll index after emergence. Seed treatment with thiamethoxam increases the chlorophyll index during the development of cotton plants, varying with cultivar and lot
