Objetivo: Revisar a literatura científica atual acerca de acidentes ocupacionais com material biológico,decorrentes da negligência no uso de equipamentos de proteção individual, associados a seus riscos eimplicações socioeconômicas. Métodos: Trata-se de uma revisão bibliográfica de caráter qualitativo,construída a partir de artigos científicos publicados nos últimos cinco anos (2016-2020), apenas na línguaportuguesa. Foram usados os bancos de dados: BVS, Scielo, LILACS e PubMed/MEDLINE. Resultados:Foram selecionados 38 artigos, em que 21 foram lidos integralmente e utilizados neste estudo. A análiseviabilizou a percepção de que fatores como idade e gênero estão associados à ocorrência de acidentes commateriais biológicos, os quais oferecem risco à saúde do trabalhador por serem vetores de doençasinfectocontagiosas, assim como causam impacto direto na economia, principalmente no âmbito da seguridade social. Considerações finais: A exposição dos profissionais a materiais biológicos, por meio de acidentes, feridas cirúrgicas contaminadas ou manipulação de pacientes com doenças infectocontagiosas, pode ser evitada com o uso adequado dos equipamentos de proteção individual, os quais constituem uma barreira eficaz contra possíveis ocorrências que possam comprometer a saúde do profissional.
A COVID-19 é uma pandemia causada pelo novo coronavírus chamado de SARS-coV2. Nesse sentido, essa enfermidade pode afetar vários sistemas do corpo humano devido à capacidade expressiva de causar a formação de lesões no endotélio dos vasos sanguíneos e ser responsável por provocar a Coagulação Intravascular Disseminada (CIVD). Isso é possível devido à capacidade do vírus em interagir, de modo complexo, com as células endoteliais dos vasos sanguíneos, o que pode afetar o funcionamento íntegro dos sistemas vitais humanos e provocar prejuízos ao corpo por consequência de inflamações locais, podendo evoluir para um nível sistêmico. Além disso, estudos recentes buscam entender qual a relação dos parâmetros relacionados à homeostasia corporal e o desenvolvimento da forma mais grave relativa à pandemia de COVID-19. Nesse ponto de vista, buscou-se relacionar o entendimento de alguns autores sobre a Coagulação Intravascular Disseminada e a COVID-19, discutindo sobre a ligação do vírus com as repercussões sistêmicas dessa enfermidade e os fatores que influenciam a hipercoagulação como resultados de complicações tromboembólicas.
Introdução. Segundo a Alzheimer's Disease International, demência é um termo genérico para um conjunto de sintomas causados por distúrbios que afetam o cérebro e têm impacto na memória, pensamento, comportamento e emoções. O tratamento da doença de Alzheimer (DA) é multidisciplinar e deve incluir a terapia farmacológica e não farmacológica. Os inibidores da colinesterase são as drogas de primeira escolha para o tratamento da DA, porém apresentam muitos efeitos colaterais e não impedem a progressão da doença. Dessa forma, a terapia antiamiloide é uma alternativa promissora no tratamento da DA. Objetivo. O presente estudo objetiva analisar as atuais perspectivas da terapia antiamiloide no tratamento da DA. Método. Foi realizada uma pesquisa de artigos científicos desde 2016 nas bases de dados Scielo, PUBMED, LILACS e BVS. Resultados. Inicialmente, foram encontrados 109 artigos na língua inglesa, portuguesa e alemã, dos quais foi realizada a leitura dos seus resumos. Conclusões. Com base na literatura analisada, grandes avanços clínicos vêm sendo realizados diante da DA. O futuro do tratamento do Alzheimer provavelmente está em uma abordagem terapêutica multimodal e a hipótese amiloide vem como terapia alternativa promissora para o tratamento da doença. Assim, ressaltamos a importância de que se fomente a discussão e a pesquisa para que nos aproximemos cada vez mais de uma possível cura e prevenção desta afecção.
A Helicobacter pylori é uma bactéria Gram-Negativa que induz inflamação continua na mucosa gástrica pela contribuição das células T CD3+ e T CD4+ causando diferentes tipos de lesões como: gastrite crônica, úlcera péptica e câncer gástrico. Com isso, as células T transfectadas com o gene FOXP3 envolvidas no processo inflamatório, passam a exprimir propriedades de células reguladoras. Este trabalho tem por objetivo revisar a literatura sobre os aspectos imunológicos envolvidos na proteção gástrica frente a infecção pela H. pylori. Revisão da literatura realizada por busca em artigos nas bases de dados PubMed, Lilacs, MedLine e Scielo, com o uso das palavras-chave: “Helicobacter pylori”; “Imunologia”; “Linfócitos T reguladores”; “Úlcera Gástrica” e o termo “FOXP3”.
