A COVID-19 é uma pandemia causada pelo novo coronavírus chamado de SARS-coV2. Nesse sentido, essa enfermidade pode afetar vários sistemas do corpo humano devido à capacidade expressiva de causar a formação de lesões no endotélio dos vasos sanguíneos e ser responsável por provocar a Coagulação Intravascular Disseminada (CIVD). Isso é possível devido à capacidade do vírus em interagir, de modo complexo, com as células endoteliais dos vasos sanguíneos, o que pode afetar o funcionamento íntegro dos sistemas vitais humanos e provocar prejuízos ao corpo por consequência de inflamações locais, podendo evoluir para um nível sistêmico. Além disso, estudos recentes buscam entender qual a relação dos parâmetros relacionados à homeostasia corporal e o desenvolvimento da forma mais grave relativa à pandemia de COVID-19. Nesse ponto de vista, buscou-se relacionar o entendimento de alguns autores sobre a Coagulação Intravascular Disseminada e a COVID-19, discutindo sobre a ligação do vírus com as repercussões sistêmicas dessa enfermidade e os fatores que influenciam a hipercoagulação como resultados de complicações tromboembólicas.
